On Dolphin 3.0 (not a typo) I was able to play 2-play splitscreen 007 Nightfire with 6 bots at 1080p 60fps with only a 2.8GHz Phenom II and a Geforce 8800GS 384MB.
Yeah, I don't have one of those and my Pentium 4 can't handle it.

I played SSBM on 2.2GHz on Sempron LE1300 (single core) and Nvidia Geforce nforce 430. At 15fps

...you guys realize that faster hardware is cheaper than a Wii U, right?
not with the way import taxes work in my country.

EDIT : and I'm sure you'll say that going out and getting a PS3 controller is even cheaper ... but if you already have the Wii U (or family addition Wii) AND the USB controller but NOT the not-crappy PC why spend more cash?

Lol, then you have a p4 laptop... Well, configure well and have fun. I think it work well with some options off, you can try increase your ram memory as well. Anyway, lets keep the focus here.

Other than your specific use-case of wacky import taxes, it could be argued that spending money on a Wii U before buying a faster PC is a poor use of one's money.

I will admit though that I completely forgot about the family Wii. Unless you already have the decently fast PC, it would be accurate to say that a normal Wii system would most likely be the cheapest solution to playing GameCube games (definitely much more so than a Wii U).

The Wii U will also be able to more accurately play GC games since it won't have to emulate them. The processor and graphics architecture is the same.

Wii U runs Wii U games.
But if you own a Wii U for those Wii U exclusives, then surely cost isn't an issue no? In that case wouldn't even Devolution beat out Nintendont due to its extremely good compatibility?

Again, the only situation I can see Nintendont being useful is minimizing cost, and therefore would only apply to a normal Wii since Wii U's aren't exactly cheap...

EDIT: It'd also be useful for cheat functionality, forgot about that. Do that many people use cheats?

EDIT 2: Derp, it'd also be useful for if you want to use custom controls and the game doesn't support control customization.

EDIT 3: Of course, Dolphin is also improving accuracy all the time...4.0 just came out last week, and it obviously is compatible with cheats and allows controller customization. So at least for the near-future, the only reason I can see to use Nintendont is for cost reasons.

If you don't want to have to deal with the anti-piracy hoops (regardless of whether you own the games), Nintendont has you covered. Having to confirm the games via another wii, and have that done with a wiimote, and that wiimote then needs to be on and paired with your Wii U whenever you want to run Gamecube games, and you can't really compress games because of the antipiracy... just so many inconveniences to deal with if you could have another program that skips all those hurdles.

I stoped when i read "I completely forgot about the family Wii".
Waiting for more nintendont news.

My point was, if you want maximum compatibility, then Devolution is the way. If you want maximum end-user control and customization, then Dolphin is the way.

This leaves Nintendont stuck somewhere in the middle.

I'm referring mostly to using it on a Wii U since that is largely its most advertised point. So you are right to stop reading then because it does not apply to you.

Or if you don't want to deal with antipiracy but would still like to play on your TV without dragging your PC into the living room. And Nintendont is still young, compatibility will (hopefully) come.
