are they in the sd card under sd:apps/nintendont/boot.dol?

and not in the sd/wiiu/apps/nintendont.boot.dol?

remenber nintendont is a wii app it cant be inside the wiiu apps folder.

Hi,
I just opened an issue on github, but I also wanted to ask here, if there are similar experiences:
I want to use Nintendont on an old Wii with GC support. I'd like to have the ipl boot animation and native controller support ('m using Wavebirds, GBA link cables, the Logitech steering Wheels and Bongos).

This only works when I launch the game from USBLoader GX or Nintendont directly using the Wiimote (not the Wavebird) and then don't press the "A" button during the boot animation.

I had to make a lot of reboots to pin this down, and I hope I got it right. It's this normal behavior? I haven't found many reports on this specific issue...

Edit
...and everything I wrote might be crap. Idk, but suddenly a lot more games show this memory card corruption message , even when I follow my own rules. I enabled the "skip IPL load" for now...

Can anyone help me?

I'm trying to use Nintendont to play Phantasy Star Online on the Wii U with the Schtserv.

I did everything correctly, followed all the steps, but it keeps giving me the error "No. 015 Connection Attempt failed. Failed to retrieve IP address from DHCP Nintendont."

Hello,If you're using the official Nintendo version, I recommend updating it. Afterward, your connection settings seem correct, so you need to check your settings on schtserv. I did this a few years ago now, and unfortunately, I don't remember everything.

OK, well after more than 6 months of waiting for an answer or something to be done about this, I've decided I'm going to go ahead and fork Nintendont and fix the issue myself.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If anyone would like a custom build of Nintendont with the updated button combos, you can find it here. I'll aim to keep this build up to date as much as possible.
Exit is now L, R, Start
Reset
is now A, Y, Start

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK, I couldn't find a proper build guide for Nintendont so, here's one I prepared earlier!

How to build your own copy of Nintendont on Windows - a step-by-step guide:

1) If you haven't already, Clone the Nintendont GitHub repo
2) Install the latest version of devkitPro (you'll replace some folders later)
3) Download the folders from the mediafile like on Nintendont's GitHub page
4) Go to C:\devkitPro\ and rename the following folders:

devkitARM - rename to "devkitARM-original"
devkitPPC - rename to "devkitPPC-original"
libogc - rename to "libogc-original"

5) Paste the replacement folders from Nintendont - make sure they're named devkitARM, devkitPRO and devkitPPC respectively (you have to unzip everything to get to the actual folder itself)
- NOTE that the mediafire link contains 2 devkitPPC versions. The one called devkitPPC r35-2 is the latest. Copy the other one in first (it should simply be called devkitPPC), then paste the one called devkitPPC r35-2 over it, choosing to replace any duplicate files

6) Once you're sure the above folders have been correctly replaced, go ahead and open your cloned copy of Nintendont
7) In the root directory, run Build.bat - if all went well, it should build a brand new copy of loader.dol in the "loader" folder (check the timestamp to make sure it's the one you just built)
8) Go ahead and make any changes you want to Nintendont!

When I've fixed the button combo, I'll upload a pull request. That way, even if the devs never get around to merging it, the code will be available for those that want to set their own button combo.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Managed to find the relevant code (here's the promised pull request for anyone interested) and remapped the combos to the following:

Exit is now L, R, Start
Reset
is now A, Y, Start

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If anyone would like a custom build of Nintendont with the updated button combos, you can find it here. I'll aim to keep this build up to date as much as possible.
This was tremendously helpful for me to make some small changes on the widescreen hack exclusion list of Nintendont.

Just wanted to add that between step 6 and 7, I was forced to add "C:\devkitPro\devkitARM\bin" to the Windows PATH variable and restart my PC. Thank you very much!

Hi! I'm new here, but I've been reading your Nintendont tips for a while, especially about how to patch Gamecube games to disable the deflicker filter. Since I recently bought a 256GB SD SanDisk card for the Wii, I installed a bunch of Gamecube games and tried them all out to see which ones definitely needed a manual patch, in case Nintendo doesn't do it by default. Here's my list:
- Donkey Konga
- Donkey Konga 2
- Donkey Konga 3
- Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2 (Maybe)
- Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
- Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup
- Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire
- Legends of Wrestling
- Legends of Wrestling II
- Nintendo Puzzle Collection
- Pac-Man Vs.
- Pitfall: The Lost Expedition
- R: Racing Evolution: Life in the Fast Lane (As I've read, this game is special, for some reason, with the manual patch; it only works at the start, but when you enter a race and exit, the filter reactivates.)
- Resident Evil: Code: Veronica X
- Resident Evil Zero
- Rocket Power - Beach Bandits (Maybe)
- Soulcalibur II
- Star Fox: Assault
- Star Fox Adventures (v1.01)
- Star Wars Bounty Hunter
- Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader
- Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike (Sadly, I wasn't able to do it with this one despite following all the recommendations in this thread).
- Super Mario Strikers (Maybe not)
- Super Mario Eclipse (v1.06) (This a hood hack)
- The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning (Maybe)
- The Simpsons Hit & Run
- Vexx
All of these games require a manual patch (GCRebuilder and then edit it in HxD).
I hope this list is helpful, thank you all for your contributions to this thread. :D

A lot of them already have cheats to disable the deflicker filter. You can find them at the gc-forever website

I can't seem to get Nintendont to work on Aroma, I have it installed on Wii U and when I launch it through Wii U menu. It start up but after awhile it go back to Wii U menu. How can I get Nintendont to work. I really want to play GameCube games.

Install it on Wii side

I can't do that since I don't have Wii Remote.
Unfortunately, you'll have to get one or borrow from someone, along with a Sensor Bar. You can try your luck using Wii Remote emulators, but I couldn't get anywhere with any of them.

Then, mod your vWii and add Nintendont to your SD card.

I can't endorse any third-party Wii Remotes as I heard that not all of them work correctly with homebrew, but that's another option if you're willing to take a risk, I guess.

Or just turn on the Wii U gamepad and use it's sensor bar instead (Which is in the same area as the camera)

What do you mean?
The Wii U GamePad has a Sensor Bar that turns on whenever the Wii Sensor Bar would turn on, if you had one. It is the top black bar with the camera in the middle.

If this makes no sense to you, Sensor Bar is just an array of infrared LEDs that the camera in a Wii Remote tracks to be able to point on a screen. It is designed to only be turned on when necessary to avoid burning out the LEDs. There are no sensors in it, that's merely a misnomer.

Just to be clear, you STILL need a Wii Remote of some kind, because the process of modding vWii requires it.

I believe you can install the Homebrew Channel from the Wii U side, but only very select homebrew work with a Pro Controller or the Wii VC GamePad.

You're referring to vWii Compat Installer, which installs Homebrew Channel.

AFAIK Homebrew Channel doesn't support either of the aforementioned controllers, and it is the only useful channel that can be installed without a Wii Remote. With a Wii Remote ready to use, that only leaves installing a channel for Nintendont (installed on vWii) alongside a vWii forwarder for Nintendont (the one found here supports the GamePad; it DOES work on Aroma). After that, using a Wii Remote is no longer necessary.

It would be great if someone forked vWii Compat Installer to also install Nintendont channel, that would make getting Wii Remotes completely unnecessary for those looking to play GameCube games but not Wii games.

By the way, can anyone confirm whether Homebrew Channel and WAD installers work with third-party Wii Remotes? That would be useful information for anyone who would like to spend as little money as possible.
