Hi, everyone I just figured out the Wii U problem with the pal bios and I wonder if it was possible to patch bios .bin file (by hexadecimal ?) to change his resolution/framerate in order to make it work on Wii U, maybe the same as other regions. I tried to take the usa one and rename it iplpal.bin but seems like Nintendont just disabled the bios run for pal games...

Since the PAL BIOS doesn't work on the Wii U I believe Nintendont was coded not to run it if it detects it's being run on a Wii U console.

Yeah I noticed that, it's just that if someone manage to fix the .bin file He could present him to the nintendont dev or in the github page and then someone else could remove the lock. Nevertheless, in my tries and researches in Hex I didn't find where could be the byte We have to changes (if it even possible). I even thought about making the ntsc bios able to run pal game instead of usa but, as japan and usa bios is exactly the same, I don't manage to find where the region lock data are...

I know bios for nintendont are just here for the nostalgia but I think that having the data manager (and rotate the cube ^^) is a real pros. So even ntsc bios would be good if We mod it to make it recognize pal games

The only games I'm still having difficulties with loading is Metroid Prime 1 and 2.
All my other converted games are booting without issue.
Why does this program dislike the Prime series?
Are you using a proper 1:1 ISO? If not alway try a 1:1 ISO that has a verified has from ReDump.org. If that works, there is something wrong with the conversion you are doing that is messing up the gams.

I have legit rips of the games, like I said all the rips work perfectly except the 2 Metroid Games. But I've never downloaded anything from that site, but I'll see.

You are not downloading anything. You are comparing the MD5 hash of your ISO against the hash of verified dumps to see if they match.

The USA versions of Metroid Prime should've one of the following MD5 Hash values:
Code:
eeacd0ced8e2bae491eca14f141a4b7c
199c4e570c7c3f65292a9deb7208da80
fdfc41b8414dd7d24834c800f567c0f8

The USA version of Metroid Prime 2 should have the following MD5 hash:
Code:
ce781ad1452311ca86667cf8dbd7d112

Just because other ISOs worked doesn't mean other will. You can also have and dumps.

It is always recommended to try a 1:1 dump that has a matching hash first. If that doesn't work, there is something else going on and you can rule out a bad ISO.

Thanks for the info, but as stated before it's a personal rip from the actual disc, same as my other .isos...nothing is downloaded from anywhere.
I did my actual disc with Clean Rip.

You should still verify the hash to make sure it is in fact a good dump. Bad dumps do happen.
Post automatically merged:

What you can do is download the Dolphin emulator which has a feature that can check the ISO's hash against the redump database and let you know if it is a good dump. Once we know you have a good dump of those two game we can then see what the problem is. I don't recall anyone else having issues with those two games.

Someone many years ago suggested that It could be about the vWii hombrew channel which doesn't have been coded to support the video mode of the gc pal bios (He said devs "forgot" to include it lol). And at a time (2015) Wii U wasn't ready to be Gamecube compatible, I can imagine it.

And someone else wanted to install a Wii HBC wad on vWii (the pirate channel) and the result was that the screen glitched hardly (since it's a wii and not vwii chnl) but for me the it "glitches" the same green line.

In my regular Wii when before the boot, my tv go from 480p to 576i to 480i, play the bios, and get back to 480p (progressive scan forced on nintendont)

So is it possible that Nintendont has anything to do with the hombrew channel video output ?

Game : Resident Evil 4 Trial Edition [P4BJ08] (With Debug)
Describe Issue : After pressing "Start Game" in the menu, hangs on a black screen.
Region : JP game, US Console.
Wii/Wii U : Wii
Nintendont revision : 5.485/5.486 (Tested in the last two versions.)
Last known working revision (if any) :
Loader used (if any) with revision no. : USB Loader GX 3.0 Rev: 1271
SD/USB Pen/USB HDD : USB HDD
SD/USB Pen/USB HDD make, model, size, format & cluster size : Samsung 1TB, 200GB, Fat32, 32k
ISO 1:1/compressed : Compressed. (I could not find ISO 1:1 :c )
McEmu/Real Mem card and size : McEmu 512Kb.
Native on/off : Off
Controller used if Native off : USB
Composite/Component/HDMI: Component
Anything else you want to explain: I already tested starting directly from Nintendont. The Resident Evil 4 Trial CD is giving the same error, and in the same place, in the main menu. After pressing Start Game, the game simply hangs, having to restart the console by the button

Update:
I tested 3 more CDs that came with the trial version of Resident Evil 4.
Interactive Multi Game Demo Disc 24 [D69E01] (without debug), Interactive Multi Game Demo Disc 20 [D75E01] (With debug) and Resident Evil 4 Preview Disc [D4BE08] (without debug).

All disks have the same problem with the Resident Evil 4 demo. Hangs after pressing "start game" in the main menu.

Is this confirmed? Is there an incompatibility with D4BE08 and Nintendont? It doesnt work for me either, but it actually worked a couple of times... same config, maybe it was just luck? I cant make it work again...

I can provide my personal backup to anyone who is willing to try it. According to compatibility list, it should work. I tried loading both from the DVD drive and from the SD card (my own DVD dump).

As I said, it actually worked a couple of times, but now I don't know if it was just luck.

Injected game (using UWUVCI) gets as far as loading Nintendont and then the console shuts down. Any ideas?

Also, something I've never quite understood about Nintendont: are settings applied per-game or system-wide? So, for example, if I choose "Memcard emulation" and "Wii U Widescreen" in the UWUVCI Nintendont config generator, will all games have the chosen settings?

its global there is only one config file its applied to every game. if the console shuts down that means the iso is bad or there is a corrupted memory card file.

Hello.

It's been a while I used Nintendont on my Wii, there was something like DiscEx and another utility I used to and it create folders with Game ID and a sys folder inside.
What's the application and how does it work again?

Thanks.

The DS3 controller should not need any half button presses as it has analog triggers.
Indeed, it worked plug and play except for the rumble feature which is a deal breaker to me and why i ordered an adapter for the GC controller to use.
