Hacking Nintendont

The controller should be connected into the Lower-Back Port.
The Upper-Back port should be for the HDD.
Try connecting it there and then let us know if the HID Test worked.

Tried both back ports and nothing I'm afraid. Tried with a wavebird and a set of trusty DK Bongos (my daughter seems to have hidden my GC controller today!!!). The adapter also has two ports and I tried both of them individually and at the same time...

Not sure what the problem is from that pic alone. Does it not recognize the buttons when you press them? The error loading the config is because it's not finding the controller.ini but that shouldn't stop the controller from being recognized when you try it.

That's the thing. You never know if its going to work until someone tries it.

Not necessarily. Contact the manufacturers and hope they're telling the truth when you ask them if their device is HID compliant.

Yes - nothing happens. I can mash away merrily but nothing is displayed on screen.

Just to check the adapter is working, I've loaded up dolphin and am happily playing luigis mansion (well, as happy as I can be with my frame rate..)

No, I don't think it does.
The reviews for it on Amazon mention it coming with a driver installation disk, meaning it's probably not HID-compliant, which is a must in order to use it with Nintendont.

It probably will not work.

You're using the Mayflash adapter?
You are better of using an original PS3 controller, just to be sure.
I also had one USB controller but I couldn't make it work at all :/ So I will have to buy a PS3 controller just for Nintendon't

If you're so sure, buy it then and test it. shaneod went out of his way to check on reviews and even the shipment info about the product to see if it was HID compliant or not, so you shouldn't argue based on your own suppositions.

This is an advice for everyone: If you want to be sure that a controller will work, then do as ShadowOne says and buy a PS3 controller. Seems that's the best route so far, as it's been tested more than others. If you can and prefer taking a risk, then help testing different controllers and adapters to see if they work, but I only recommend this if you can get a refund or something in case the controller doesn't work. No one wants to waste money, right?

I stand corrected.
I did some more research, and I found a higher definition picture of the box, which says plug and play on it.
Also, I looked up a few video reviews, and they mentioned other controllers by the same company being plug and play.
It probably would work then, I guess, but who knows.
It being an old device means absolutely nothing whatsoever, however. Just because it's old doesn't mean it will work with Nintendont. At the same time, just because it's new doesn't mean it will work with Nintendont.

Aren't those more expensive than the ps3 controllers? And I don't know about availability on local stores, at least in my city I haven't seen one of those sold individually yet. (Though, to be fair, the ps4 is relatively new on the market around here)

This sucks.
I have always disliked the Playstation controller, even since the PSX era when there were no analog sticks.
I find it incredibly uncomfortable (being it PSX, PS2, PS3, PS4) and I hate the position of the left analog stick, makes me stretch my hand more than I like.

I really hope there could be other kind of controllers compatible with Nintendon't.
Right now we only have 2 options:
1) Play it safe and buy a PS3 controller (which design I don't like)
2) Risk it and buy a USB adapter for your controller and see if it's compatible with Nintendon't and/or HID Test.
The same goes for buying other controllers.

My bet now is to buy a Third Party PS3 controller that has the Left analog stick placed like Xbox/NGC and see if that one is compatible.

Decisions decisions...

i tried to boot a few of my games via nintendont(downloaded using link on OP) and it doesnt seem to want to load the game, it just black screens after i try to load the game, and also i was wondering, if im trying to use a gamecube controller do i need a controller config file? if so where do i find the one for gamecube

games tried: LoZ: TWW, Pikmin, Metroid Prime(which i didnt expect to work due to the compatibility list)

I did a quick search on the websites of stores around where I live... I only found one store where there sell the ps4 for $937 (converted to my currency, of course lol) and a controller for $124, a total ripoff but that's what you get when there's taxes and import fees. That's why I got myself a Wii, might be "outdated" and hard to find, but the price was more reasonable and there's a lot of games for it.

Yeah, i thought as much. I don't know about the rest, but I wouldn't spend $60 on a controller to play GC games. It's way above my limit lol.

You'd do better on converting the prices to dollars but I get that Mexico sells the ps3 controllers at a higher price than ps4... Not very logical, unless there are more ps3 owners around there.
