All these hardcore gamers are freaking out about bad framerates and poor quality. Personally, I think it'll be fun to pop in for half an hour and mess around. Would be an enjoyable gimmick

Psvr was much more than what Nintendo is offering.

Knowing actual games that aren’t targeted for kids are getting support for this, I might actually consider getting a Labo.

Oh for sure, but I don't think Nintendo cares if Labo VR sees that kind of success or not. It's cardboard, so one sale and they're probably making a profit.

I wonder if they will just make a separated VR headset, if this is successful. Instead of just relying only on console power.

BotW might run OK in VR if they increase the GPU clock. Even then, it's still gonna look nearly as pixelated as Minecraft.
And by OK I mean it might be playable but people that are susceptible to it are likely going to experience some serious motion sickness.

I'm not 100% on this, but you could probably fit Switch into a few of the Google Cardboard headsets. Assuming you wanted to save some money and perhaps get something a little higher-quality, anyway:

Whether they require verification that you own Labo before unlocking the VR support for these games, I'm also unsure on, however.

It's not so much that for me, it's that I get super motion sick with certain kinds of VR. Labo really wasn't designed with most of us in mind anyway, so I'm sure kids will have a blast with it.

Even so, is it even going to be in first-person, or are we getting the problem with just about every Virtual Boy game not named Teleroboxer and that one other game? You know, where the games, for being on a system about virtual reality, are in the third person and not first person!?

I am hoping a 3rd party picks this idea up and makes a standalone solution (out of plastic)

If they weren't asking $80 for it, then maybe. You'd often get "enjoyable gimmicks" out of the bargain bin Wii games too, but those were like $5 - $10.

I doubt many will drop $80. I'm gonna pay $40 for the starter package and enjoy the garage

I still expect a support for Mario Kart 8 (or maybe a Mario Kart 9 or Mario Kart VR) soon, it would be fantastic

I wonder if BOTW will receive an improvement in frame-rate for VR, with the current frame-rate should not be a very good experience.

Watch, Nintendo will come in with their little cardboard budget VR kit and provide the kind of gameplay we've all been longing for since the early 90's. Maybe not, but it would be funny if Nintendo schooled the expensive alternatives out there and showed everyone, once again, how it's done.

I know people hate this, But I love the idea of playing zelda VR, even if it is crappy, if it's playable I'll be happy lol

I have this, and it's so far a great VR handset.. As for Zelda.. They really need to optimize it and plus offer a tune-up for our switches. Replace fan and thermal paste even when warranty has expired
