Yeah, I'm pretty sure this about the VC games. The modchips are pretty much undetectable, but the VC games are easily detected due to the modified wads being installed. Wiinewz has a big thing about it on their front page.

They are talking about Modchips ...

I don't think this is legal as my wii was bought in 2006 and the EULA wasn't like that back then. [IMG]
And I didn't accept this new one. I'm going to sue them. [IMG]

Doesn't the EULA say it can be changed at anytime and without notice? I'm pretty sure I remember reading that on my Wii somewhere.

This is what I have a problem with.

I bought a game. How am I not allowed to transfer that game to someone else as long as I revoke my right to it? They are saying I can't sell my Wii to someone else and leave my VC and WiiWare games on it. It's not like I'm making copies and installing them on Wiis I sell.

Yeah and unauthorised vc games and wad modifications which you install onto your system.

You guys saying it's just about modchips are spreading false information. Bushing is the one that made the wad installer and the code to crack VC games and he is the one saying you can get banned and be detected by doing it. So, I would think if someone knows, it would be him. The one responsible for it.

edit for jaxxster: it's a non licensed accessory. read the eula.

a vc channel is not a device....sigh, I cant see anything in that block of text that would indicate the use of pirated vc games

Thats what sucks about connecting to the Inet with your Wii, Nintendo will be getting all snoody about modding them.

However, as I have no Wii and wont have one for many, many months of the foreseeable future, I shall cross this bridge when I come to it.

Looks like Nintendo is performing their counterattack on those with mod chips. Good way to intimidate others to keep their wiis clean. New mod chips will probably come out bypassing the mod chip check eventually though.

Is Nintendo going to send men in black suits with shades to deal with you?

If they were implying hacked VC games, they would say software, not device. It says nothing about the instillation of unauthorized software. The only word that may imply software is the underlined "modification", however from the past use of "device installed in your Wii console", it is safe to assume that they mean modchip.

Sounds like the same warning you get with firmware updates these days, doesn't seem at all to do with the hacked VC games IMO.

It says non-licensed accessory. A VC Game is an accessory. When you pay for it you get the license to use it. Not paying for it and having it makes it a non-licensed accessory. Not to mention part of the EULA is that they have the right to change the EULA at anytime.

Is a VC game really an accessory? I thought it was only considered software. By "accessory", I think they mean things such as coolers, action replays, and of course modchips.
