Next month, Nintendo will offer a couple of SDHC cards in Japan. The cards will come in two sizes: 8GB and 16GB.
The 3DS system itself comes with a 2GB SD card, so these new ones are for consumers who take a lot of photos and download a large amount of content from the eShop.

Yeah and they are forcing you to get it.
Oh wait...
:tpi:
Have they announced an official price for the cards? We don't want to hear guesses or "Because it's from Nintendo, so..." idiocy.
I didn't think so....

I kinda understand for some people who might want their system to match their accessories in term of parties...

If you've downloaded the nintendo video application, the extra-data needed for that is very large and can eat into the 2gb card very quickly.
I also like to put some tunes on my SD card, for when I go out and about and I take my 3DS rather than my DSi (moonshell).

That being said, SDHC cards isn't actually new, I'm fairly sure the DSi-branded SD cards already passed 4gb a while ago.

not the right moment to upgrade, so 2G will be fine atm... 16G or more is awesome for 3D movies, that is IF we can freely transfer 3D movies from PC to SD :)

- and still waiting for the hack scene.
