Sorry, but really nothing this year. If that reddit asshole don't cite the source none of this would have happened.

What do you mean?
The orginal op never intended the info to be shared aboard, cause Nintendo won't care about out of market population knowing it, but the rumor being shared on Reddit attracts Nintendo's awareness. The original op seems to have talked to cops already.
@TheDarkGreninja The original post is already deleted. Hope the op is still alive and well.

My thread http://gbatemp.net/threads/reddit-rumor-new-switch-leak.450235/
Reddit thread https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSw...r_someone_who_producing_switch_at_foxconn_is/
Original Chinese thread posted by a Foxconn worker is already removed. Later post suggest his superior or the police is involved after Nintendo found out about it.
Moral of the day: Don't fuck with Nintendo.

Well, if this happen to be true then it is both, good and bad, good because the console will be decently powerfull and bad for the poor chinese guy that leaked the info.

Yeah if these leaks are true, and getting busted for them certainly makes it look that way, Switch is going to be beastly for a hybrid console. Should run anything from third-party at 1080p, even if some stuff has to run at 30FPS.

Moral of the story I think is don't be born Chinese.
Actually things can be way more nasty if this is in the states. At most the police will do is keep him in a cell for a few days. Nintendo cannot exactly sue him but Nintendo of America sure can sue an American worker. And China hasn't forgiven Japan for WW2, but I will not get into politics and we should go back to switch reveal. I feel like the switch will have considerably lower tdp than tegra.

Well I mean because he was probably getting paid next to nothing as a Foxconn worker. Going to jail would just be the cherry on top of that shit salad.

Oh, I thought you are talking about Nintendo but you are really taking about Foxconn. Yeah, Foxconn is shit, but none of this would have happened if it doesn't trace back to the original thread.

I'm trying to imagine the lengths Nintendo went to in order to keep Switch under wraps for so long (especially before revealing their video). There must have been some tight contracts with suppliers & partners that greatly discouraged any leak. Probably with huge financial disincentives for anyone caught leaking details before launch.

I guess it could be worse:

don't steal our stock:

don't swear at your boss:

Don't know the price of smokes in China, but if they can afford them, that's probably not the case now.

It's pretty standard stuff, I don't see how any of these is a problem.
Cigarettes are around 10 bucks per box. 50g of drug can give you death sentence.
But the thing is, this is just a leak with the employee looking at the product. And he knows the risk of leaking, but then someone have to quote him on places that Nintendo care about like Reddit. (I am guilty as well for sharing it on gbatemp, but the damage is minimal and we are looking forward to the switch even more)

Just to recap everything from Foxconn, with absolute certainty:
Die size is 100mm^2, with a 200mm^2 GPU in new dev unit dock (similar setup to medium range px2, and confirmed gp106). While gp108 might be 132mm^2, it has 768 cuda cores. Further, the soc could have a stacked orientation. In this case, we should expect performance better than tegra x2.
6.8'' screen, not sure about resolution due to eye observation.
Dock gives no significant boost to ps4 pro level. Provide better cooling components but the fans are in the tablet.
4000+ mAh.
1.7+ GHz quad core, clock closer to a57 but stated to be a73. 921 MHz gpu, core count unknown.
Very stable performance with Unity fish demo. Less than superb lighting.
Conclusion: Massively more powerful compared to the wii u.

I'm thinking close to 900 cores with gp106. Very solid system for the first major hybrid console. Only possible in 2016. Outdoor play during daytime will be an issue, but I'm betting that's the only real issue. Switch passes the test for a system targeting 1080p, and then some. Anybody who doesn't want to bother upgrading from their first-revision PS4s/XB1s will be playing in 1080p as well, so that would effectively make Switch Nintendo's first modern console on par with the current console generation's hardware. Never thought I'd see the day.

SSB at 60 FPS pls Nintenduuu
