Hardware Nintendo Switch painful launch

Gotta say. Three days in and they're off to a rocky start. I would still love to see an approximation of affected units. I doubt that everyone who has a good console will make videos and the like to show the world that maybe it's just isolated. Too much effort.

i disagree on the statement that consoles are for kids. its for everyone as there are plenty of great intense games on ps4 (gj porting games to pc xbox) but some ignorant people just want nintendo to fail so their console can win the "master race"

Ofcourse, I should specify more that it's aim towards a younger audience in the first hand (teenagers) and adults second.

I honestly feel that home consoles were aimed at children and young adults because of arcades and the like. As time passed and various consoles came out, the audience has changed. You've got the nostalgic middle-aged Atari era gamers that still play their games, and some current ones. Then you've got these new fangled youngin's doing their thing. I dunno.

I'm going with the assumption that less than 5% of Switches have had any major issues and social media/media is blowing it out of proportion for clicks. Until proven otherwise.

My Switch doesn't have any issues. But it seems to me that if yours does, you could just go back to the retailer you bought it at and exchange it for a working model, I wouldn't be scared to buy one considering most Switchs are fine, and if yours isn't its not like you're stuck with the lemon, just bring it back to the store and they'll let you exchange it.

OP, know your retailers return window, purchase with a credit card, keep your receipt. If there is a problem it will likely surface within the return window. The only real risk is your time/saves. If loosing them is distressing, wait.

Every piece of hardware released (basically ever) has some small percentage of manufacturing defects. The Switch is no different, and not exempt from this rule. Usually they iron these things out fairly quickly with a hardware revision (or just fixing the next batches). Warranties are a thing for a reason. If you buy one and it's faulty, call them up/email them/whatever, and I'm sure they'll arrange for an exchange/replacement.

Either way, the Switch is great from what I've played. I play it on my commute too and from university. It's also neat just sticking it back in the dock and continuing my game on my TV in my room when I get home.

Back on subject, hardware and software will always happens at launch and after, nothing is perfect. For me there is no reason to buy a switch (yet?). The game I wanted to play on WiiU run on CEMU. And BoTW, at the end, will run on CEMU too.

I made violence to myselft for many games because I don't like the exclusive shit.
For the moment only a MH could make me buy a switch (not even sure, I can play MHO and Dauntless on PC seems promising)

I have 2 Switches and they have had 0 problems.

I preordered a PS4 from Amazon and it came DOA. I simply returned it. I didn't go making a 5 minutes long youtube video complaining about it.
