Nintendo has received info that may if I arent telling you may disable the useage of all roms distributed on the internet. They may or may not be able to pull it off but what it is is that when they make a game cartrige in the factory they will program a unique code in each one of them and if someone puts the game on the internet when they upload it it will run a hidden program to check nindendo servers to see if the code is already on a game card if it is it will either not let it upload or it will not run on a flash cart. This may make it impossible to run roms downloaded through the internet.

Definitely either a troll or an idiot. In another of his posts he claimed that when you downloaded the ROM it would run a program on your computer to check the unique code. Of course, that is impossible unless there are some exploits in popular DS emulators and you have them set to automatically run any ROM you download.

Without a source of this information, I can't see it being anything more than baseless conjecture.
So where did this data come from?

I've also hacked the 3DS with potatoes and electrical wires. I've transformed it to a potato battery.

At best, this could only work on the 3DS, if it's not pure BS, which I believe it to be without any source. DSlite and DSi are most likely safe since they don't have any kind of always-on WiFi to check squat.

interesting....so, if someone uploads a torrent to somewhere with a nintendo ROM, it gets sent to nintendo's servers first, and then gets edited and the upload finishes?

    Translation

That would be literally impossible. Hidden programs cannot check thousands of file-sharing sites, including the millions of uploads, all at once.

Sure, they do this with the unique codes on the DSi, where DSiWare won't run if the code in the DSi doesn't match the DSiWare, but that's not checking millions of things at once.

So... You think Nintendo will have a type of DRM on the 3DS carts at all time?

First off, that would kill the 3DS if it needs to be connected to the internet all the time, both in the eyes of the consumer, as well as in the eyes of the pitiful battery.

Also, Nintendo isn't smart enough to do something like this.

Lol Nintendo will even get sued if this even happens. Wouldnt it be a breach of privacy if it starts an program by nintendo on a private computer without the owners permisson. Basically Nintendo is killing themselves if they even dare lol.
