Let's face facts here, this is the only known example of a Nintendo Playstation. It's of no practical use to a collector as there were no actual games made for it( other than bragging rights), surely it would be better to have it put in a place where everyone can see and learn about it came into existance and not locked up and forgotten about until the next time it's dragged out for auction in a couple of years.

It will be very hard to price a unique item like this because there is nothing to compare it to. If I were the seller I would sell it to Nintendo or Sony.

Do you honestly think Nintendo would touch anything with the word playstation on

I don't think Sony has any beef with nintendo as of now but nintendo are prob still thinking fk what if we had ff7:lol:

Still a sore spot between Sony and Nintendo I'd wager. To end a contract like Nintendo did is pretty unforgivable in the Western world let alone Japanese culture. Who ever is typing stop there. Yes the royalty share was unfair but Nintendo still signed and should have honored that. It's not like the Sony put a gun to their head and if they didn't sign they'd pull the trigger

I've been interested in this piece of tech for a while, the internet has a lot of info on it despite it's rarity.

The CD function was purposely disabled, and there are no actual disc games for it.
The cartridge slot worked though. The owner brought it to a famous engineer/modder Ben Heck, who was able to restore the CD drive and got it to play a music CD. But like I said before there are no CD based games for it. It's an over complicated SNES.

Important piece of gaming history, yes.
Holy Grail to gaming collectors, yes.
Useful, no.

Maybe someday the 7th Guest demo for the Snes CD that was shown behind closed doors in CES 1992 will surface.

Would be awesome if someone could get it running on the Snes CD!
