ok ok.....Also if you take a look none of the games for switch require a gemmick for a true completion. Yes if your 100% botw then yah its needed (motion control puzzle), however you don't need to beat all shrines to get the true ending of the game, so regardless its still optional. I honestly feel that this time Nintendo left most of the gemmicks out. If you don't like switching the console don't do it. Keep in handheld, or console mode. No game needs it. Arms doesn't require motion controls, as their is a option for traditional controls. breath of the wild give the option to disable motion controls as well. Mario kart again, no motion controls necessary. I'm trying to bring up that, you don't need to switch from handheld to console or viceversa to play. So, in this case, as I see it. its more of a option, and not a gemmick. Its optional if you wish to switch it. Its optional if you wish to play with motion controls. its optional. However this is my opinion, and I know that there a bound to people who disagree.
lets put it like this, OPTIONAL.
the normal controller is OPTIONAL, whereas the gimmick is FORCED as DEFAULT.
it is exactly the same as the wii was and the wii u, forcing a gimmick controller.
yes some games may offer support for a normal controller, but you tailor to the masses, and everyone has joycons, why do you think the wii was so poorly littered with the same shovelware crap?
heres one for you, ZELDA you dont need to do anything, it has nothing to complete the game.
the only reason you have repetetive shrines is to gain enough hearts to then surivie the battle with gannon, you dont even need to do the devine beasts, you dont even need to do any side quests.
this game litrally is just an over sized map with no story, no direction, just run aimlessly in the hope to find something.
for an open world game it sucks balls BIG TIME.
and before the fans cry..... I LIKE ZELDA GAMES, but this is just poor, this hasnt been the game they planned for the wii u, its something they just slapped out to demo the motion control features of the joycon... hence why it has no levels or dungeons or even a fecking story for ffs.
but back to our chat, potable or on tv, makes no diff to me when there is nothing to play.
the fact that is marketed as a home console and nintendo being cheap merging its portable market into one (CAN CLEARLY SEE THEIR GOAL HERE).
