Hi
I wish to repair my bust DSi and not send for repair.

Problem:-
- Nintendo DSi not charging
- If I place a flat battery into DSi LEDs flash on, DSi starts to boot with splash screen on both screens then switches off

Details:-
- with a fully charged battery - DSi works perfectly with charged battery (I've tried multiple batteries). when i plug in charger i can see the charging symbol flashing => DSI works, charging socket ok, charger works, battery works
- with a flat battery & have used multiple chargers/flat batteries the orange charging light remains on but battery never charges up

what i've done:-
- tried multiple batteries & chargers
- cleaned all connections with isopron
- switched the charging board
- checked all cables etc no water damage

what could be wrong as it's driving me mad.

Cheers

I think you should not repair it and just buy a new set. I faced such a similar problem with my DS Lite and Nintendo (or rather shitty MAXSOFT) told me there was a loose connection inside the system and it costed me $60 in repair fees. It got fried again in a few weeks.

There seems to be a problem with cords/connectors that lead from the charger to the battery

Booting and switching off might mean you have a blown fuze or possible a loose ribbon cable. Maybe, ive been wrong before though.

I'd say blown fuse
Send it to Nintendo for repair
And do yourself a favor and buy a DS Lite while the DSi is off for repair
