So it appears that people want a monthly thread as well as a weekly thread, but I thought "nah fudge it too much work". Then I realised that I am 4 months ahead with the weekly threads so its no extra work at all! Just copy and paste from those.

The only thing I wont be writing up are the Japanese games as I usually write them up the week I post as thats when most of them actually have screens and stuff. Japanese titles however will be mentioned.

On to this month: Its freaking awesome! September is always jammed packed with some highly sought after games. Expect the end of "OMG THE DS IS DEAD!!!1111!!!!!" threads that we keep getting and a return of "OMG I GOT TOO MUCH TOO PLAY"!!!!!11!!!111"</b>

<!--coloro:Purple--><span style="color:Purple"><!--/coloro--><b><u>Read to know when a game could be dumped:</u>
These dates are what retailers say is out unless stated otherwise, sometimes they make dates up for pre-ordering purposes. These dates could also be "shipping dates" which usually means that that's the date when games get shipped to stores so a game could either be in stores on that day or after. Some games may get delayed some others not listed may appear but at the moment of posting these are correct. Also just because a game is released in stores it doesn't mean that they'll appear on our internets but NA titles usually appear on our 'nets Wednesday night UK time. I love you with mouth.</b><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->

Its finally coming out! How many times have I wrote this up? Four, once last year as part of a preview, again when it was suppose to come out in Japan (and it still hasn't), again as part of my 2008 preview and again as another preview when it was announced to be coming out in the West. So you can say its a game that I want.

So you play this cat who can turn into a Tornado, win? Tornado lets players join forces with Toki and the other members of the Cosmic Cleaners as they set out to restore all of Earth's buildings, vehicles, inhabitants and other obscure objects that have been stolen by the envious Prince using his mischievous "Black Hole Device." Using a combination of stylus and microphone activated controls, players will travel across Planet 69 as they level up and max out their "Tornado Machines" to literally uproot everything in their paths in effort to take back what Prince has wrongfully stolen and return it to Earth.

There will also be a Battle Mode where you can challenge a friend and go head to head and collect stuff. I want this game, it sounds a like Katamari and will probably be the closest thing to that game on the DS

Its Pokemon...with Dinosaurs. Instant win? Japanese reviews said no when it came out ages back and we've had these sort of games before that have failed.

Sega are wanting this to be a big hit and they plan on releasing this outside of Japan. The spin off of Sega's popular Mushi King games, Dinosaur King is a kids oriented title that has you battling your favourite dinosaurs. As Max or Rex, otherwise known as the D-Team, players will collect over 100 dinosaurs, each with its own special moves totalling over 240 in all. Travelling to five different territories around the globe, players will dig for fossils that are indigenous to that region. Once the player has collected their dinosaurs, exciting battles can begin with the evil Dr. Z, a greedy scientist bent on destruction and world domination. Its also an animated series.

Not sure if I care about this or not.

Remember Zero G? It got delayed and renamed, though I fudging swear I saw it in shops over here.

I hope that this is a good racer but two things make me think that it won't. 1. Its being released at £11.99 and 2. Midas Entertainment release crap games, but hey lets be optimistic here, the game does feature online wi-fi mode (something most bigger games don't even bother having) and seeing as we probably won't get Wipeout it'll have to do for weapon based future racing. If its bad then I guess back I go to Speed Racer.

My god this is lovely looking!

From the very tiniest forms of life to the intergalactic level of existence, you are in control of life itself in this simulation game by Will Wright. Beginning in the primordial ooze, players create a character from DNA that will grow, survive, and mate as it evolves from a single-celled organism to a fully-formed member of an establishing species. As more and more creatures inhabit the world, and as evolution forms the future, your species will join herds, clans, even civilizations. The more advanced the creatures of the planet grow, the more complex the strife of survival becomes. The action plays out much like an action RPG – starting small and humble, over time and through the completion of tasks new abilities and body parts are unlocked that can be implemented in the Creature Editor screen.

For some reason people are shitting on the way it looks, i love it so I shit on them! Shame on you! Ok its not a proper version of Spore and I am thankful as I have a PC/Wii and probably so I'm happy with this. If you only have a DS, sorry. See this as a title to complement the bigger versions. People who have played it say its great and has a lot of fun to offer, now I prey to hear that its connectible with the Wii version.

So Rare what have you done since leaving Nintendo? Grabbed by the Goulies....lame game. Conker remake on Xbox...great but remake. Kameo...nioce ideas but kinda lacking. Perfect Dark Zero...A massive letdown. Viva Pinata...a piece of greatness that didn't do well. Anyway here it is on the DS, yes Rare still makes games for Nintendo, hey DS makes shit loads of money and Microsoft love money.

Viva Piñata puts a full-size game experience in your pocket, featuring not only the entire range of paper beasts from the Xbox 360 title but also a few new ones thrown in to spice things up for those familiar with the established cast. Stylus input lets you easily interact with your menagerie. Design, nurture, instruct, protect and care for your garden and animals through direct touch. Over a local wireless connection, you can also lets you send prime Piñata specimens to your friends, making the act of parading your Doenut around in a humiliating pirate outfit easier than ever.

Its got eveything that the 360 game has plus a hell of a lot more! Transfer items – any piñata, accessory or object – from your garden to a friend’s garden. Some exotic species can only be attracted using wi-fi. Its gotta be a must have game and I hope that it does a lot better than it did on the 360. The worst thing Rare have done has gone to Microsoft imo, the main audience just doesn't understand their games.

So its a top down racer and its ok at best. There are 30 vehicles & diverse track themes including races in jungles, deserts, polar caps, canyons, coastlines, islands, ruins, and modern-day sprawling cities.

Controls are great but some people can get use to them. Its no Racing Gears but its ok.

Another good looking game from the makers of Drawn To Life and it looks like it'll add something new to the DS RTS genre.

Lock's Quest, players create a virtual world block-by-block to defend their homeland against invading enemies. With the innovative use of the Nintendo DS stylus, players will be able to immerse themselves into the building and creating process.

You assume the role of young hero Lock as he defends his homeland from the imminent attack of robotic invaders. As an Archineer - part architect, part engineer -- Lock uses his skills to build new structures around the sacred Source Artefacts with the ultimate goal of protecting them from infiltrators. Players can utilize different materials such as stone, metal, or wood to create and design defence towers in the battle field. There are also quirky weapons such as quicksand traps and glue cannons that the player can use to attack enemies.

There is also a multiplayer mode so you can battle your friends.

Mystery Case Files is a series of games that have graced the PC & MAC, this one however is exclusive to NDS.

Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir uses the unique Nintendo DS interface to expand upon the seek-and-solve game play of the popular series from Big Fish Games. Players seek out cleverly hidden items in a multitude of painted scenes. Players progress through an interactive detective story investigating a cast of characters and uncovering new evidence to find the rightful heir to a million-dollar fortune. This new portable instalment is available only for Nintendo DS. With interactive logic puzzles that use both the touch-screen interface and built-in microphone and include the first ever multiplayer mode for a Mystery Case Files game, Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir presents a new generation of seek-and-solve games for casual gamers and franchise fans.

The other games in the series were actually pretty decent and would fit well on the DS.

SE gives Europe & Australia some respect and release this title there first!

A prestigious army captain, an adventurous princess seeking to test her skills beyond palace walls, a humble merchant aspiring to open his own shop, and two sisters who wish to avenge their father’s death...These seemingly unrelated individuals will soon cross paths when fate brings them together to journey alongside you, the hero. Dive into this unique adventure, and discover an epic tale told through the experiences and emotions of characters from all walks of life.

Experience an adventure of epic proportions, presented through multiple character perspectives. While retaining the classic look and feel of the original release, this remake breathes new life into a much-loved entry in the Dragon Quest series with 3D graphics, dual screen presentation and newly animated monsters.

You can also expand your town via Chance Encounter mode, available through local wireless connection. Probably the first RPG that I've wanted to play in a while. Looks damn pretty too.

What this isn't a homebrew game? You sure? Yeah it looks like crap, presentation and that but it's probably got a shitload of options but still meh for me.

Gamers interact with the game using the stylus on the lower screen to set the player position, defend, attack, pass and shoot, with full control over ball. Using the finger-flick icon on the screen, the player can choose the angle and power of the kick just like the real thing. The upper screen gives real time feedback on all the match action with fouls, goals and even those all-important aerobatic shots.

I'd rather have the real thing.

Star Wars on the DS hasn't been too bad actually. Revenge of the Sith, though a GBA port with 3D space sections tacked on it was still a good side scrolling brawler. Lego Star Wars II was decent but its bugs ruined it, but LEgo Star Wars Complete was good. Lethal Alliance was terrible however. Here is a game that looks to better them all. Its by n-Space who have done some real bad games but also did some decent titles like Call of Duty 4 DS & Geist GC.

You are Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice! The Dark Lord of the Sith himself has trained you to use a lightsaber and unleash the power of the Force, but now your destiny is your own. Will you join Vader as the next great Sith, or will you choose to defend peace and justice as a noble Jedi Knight?

Sounds alright doesn't it? Rather have the Wii version though but I hope this one works out too.

Yet another title that is based on a free internet game, this one is more of a flash toy.

Line Rider allows players to construct their own track filled with as many ramps, hills, and jumps as they can imagine utilizing a pencil tool. Once the player is done creating their course, they can send a virtual sledder down the route until he wipes out.

This time it has a more colourful, cartoony look to it to the plain black lines on a white background and also there will be cut scenes to flesh out some kind of tacked on story. It is also said to have one of the best electronic soundtracks of any recent game but will this be enough to warrant the full price tag? I'm not sure.

This should have become a fucking series of games! Originally a title on the SNES called Kirby Super Star and Kirby's Fun Pack in PAL territories and it was awesome and a game I still play on my SNES.

The game features new graphics and fully rendered animated cut scenes. With so many adventures waiting to be unlocked, there will never be a dull moment as Kirby runs, floats, copies enemies and uses Helpers to fight King Dedede and Meta Knight. New modes like Revenge of the King and Meta Knight Ultra await, along with classics like The Great Cave Offensive and Milky Way Wishes. On top of the main modes, there are also three new touch-screen-controlled mini-games that can be played with up to three friends via DS Download Play. Not only that, but players can go on Kirby adventures with a friend via local wireless as well.

I want this game NOW!

I really hope that this one is better than the last one and it should be seeing that this one is built especially for the DS.

Buide your city from ancient times into the future with SimCity Creator for Nintendo DS. Evolve your city through time, starting with ancient times, the middle ages, modern times, present day and the future. Four play modes are available, Challenge, Free Play, Chance Encounter and Gallery, giving options to make the game as challenging or as creative as you want. Earn epic landmarks along the way to enhance your city and mark your progress into the next era. Choose your path through history and make a city for the ages. There is also a free mode where you can just play it sandbox style.

The screens do look like its a version of Sim City DS 2 which onyl came out in Japan and that game was rated farily well over there.

Its nice when these games get released so soon after the Japanese version.

The first Disgaea game for the DS has the same basic concept as other strategy RPGs, but uses many unique features and enhancements. Features include the use of Geo Cubes (magic items that add more depth to multi-player battles, Demon Gadgets (randomly generated items that appear on the battlefield) and more. It is a reworking of the PSP game Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness which was actually a reworking of the PS2 game Disgaea: Hour of Darkness.

The game will have new characters, storylines and features added to the DS version as well as the touchscreen stuff too. The bottom screen gives a zoomed-in view of your selected character, while the top screen provides a bird's-eye view of the action. Players can choose to play with the stylus, making selections on the touch screen, or the entire game can be played with buttons in a more traditional manner.

The original voice acting will also make the DS version but the English version will only have English voice, unless someone hacks it of course.

Now I finished this on the PS2 and I liked it a lot, so much so that I finished the PSP version. Will I finish the DS one? Hell fucking yeah, this game looks just as awesome and should play as well too! There have ben though, reports that this is a quick and dirty port and has a few bugs. If true I hope that they have been sorted out for this release.

Its been so long since we had a good Batman game...*thinks back to the last one*...Batman & Robin SNES/Mega Drive! Rumours are insisting that Pandemic are doing one that is set after The Dark Knight but there hasn't been an announcement as EA think its a bit shit and they've got this "hey we're not gonna do shit games anymore" thing going on. Anyway we have this to tie us over if that one ever appears.

Basing itself more on Batman: The Animated Series more than any of the recent films or comics, the game will star Batman and his sidekick Robin fighting crime and villainy in Gotham City. Batman's most dangerous and murderous foes have all escaped from Arkham Asylum and divided themselves into three groups, each led by a "clever" and well-known villain. Various gameplay footage shows Joker and Harley luring Commissioner Gordon to an abandoned amusement park where they take him captive to use in a trap for Batman. Others include Catwoman stealing a valuable diamond and the Riddler outlining his plans with his group.

There will be 30 levels in the game (15 for the heroes and 15 for the villains) as well as some secret levels, including Wayne Manor in which Bruce Wayne is an unlockable character. You unlock villain levels as you progress through the game. The hub for the heroes, similar to those in Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga and Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures, will be the Batcave, where you can buy figures, and see the unlockables. Alternatively, the hub for the villains is Arkham Asylum. There are many different environments in the game, usually based on the villains Crime style including an Ice Cream Factory, a Garden Center, the Gotham Sewers, and Gotham's seedy underbelly.

Hopefully it should be better than the last game which was a bit of a back step compared to the LEGO Star Wars games. To be honest I recommend that people should play the console versions as they should be virtually the same but most people only have a DS. Its better to look at the vids as the screens published are kinda shitty.

Another PSX to DS port but this one is less known than others.

Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure is a musical RPG that has musical numbers, complete with vocals. Players will take on the role of Cornet, who can talk to puppets and has a magical horn that grants wishes. She must save Prince Ferdinand, who has been turned into stone by an evil witch.

Added to the remake is a new easier to follow map, some new characters & some new touch screen stuff. The original wasn't a classic but it was still pretty decent.

Using the Nintendo DS stylus, players will create their own hero, defeat DoodleBob's rogue drawings, and rescue SpongeBob and his friends.

Well its the first SS game that I've been interested in playing thats for sure, though I did enjoy the GBA Krusty Krab game. The trailer makes it look like great fun.

Bioware finally give DS owners some of their good RPG stuff! Ok the subtitle is a bit poopy but hey at least its not called Sonicles!

Sonic Chronicles mixes a rich story, hand-painted visuals, fast-paced team combat, and wireless collectible trading into a uniquely compelling adventure. Players will customize their party and characters, choosing from Sonic, Tails, Amy Rose, Knuckles,Shadow, Rouge, and more, and prepare to defeat a menacing new enemy. Rhythmically tapping anddragging with the stylus in Sonic-style battles, players can level up and use Rings to buy new specialattacks as they progress through 20 different and beautifully hand-drawn areas including new andclassic Sonic locales. With an engaging storyline, lightning fast attacks, high production values, and impeccable visuals, Sonic Chronicles allows gamers to experience Sonic in a whole new way.

There is online trading and collecting, where you collect several types of artificial Chao lifeforms, each with varying power-ups and abilities that help in combat and elsewhere. Players can exchange their Chao with friends via local wireless play.

Should be a mighty fine RPG that is different to most that we get.

The simplicity of Pipemania makes it accessible to all ages. The game requires quick thinking, hand-eye co-ordination, forward thinking and keen spatial awareness.

I hope there is enough there to make it worthy of the price.

The only good HM game for the DS. This took away a hell of a lot of time until a bug ruined it for me. Hopefully this one won't have any bugs but I'd doubt it.

You awaken to find yourself in an unfamiliar village with no memory of who you are or how you arrived. Mist, a beautiful young woman comes to your aid and helps you start to build a life for yourself…on a farm. Till the land, grow crops, raise animals, catch fish and battle monsters! Battling against fierce beasts is very important for your survival, but making friends with them is essential for your farm life. Build skills and learn magic as you save your neighbours and uncover the secrets of your forgotten past…

Perhaps its more of the same, but hopefully the story will make it worth while.

Yeah, next month will be pretty awesome -- a definite end to the summer drought. But did you forget Viva Pinata?

Really looking forward to Tornado -- looks really cool. I just hope they get the mechanics right.

BTW, congrats on coming out of the closet, Hadrian.

I'm unsure if its worth buying, I know people will mainly "test" them here but only games that I feel are worth buying get the approval.

The screenshots for Disgaea make it look like it's been forced to fit the DS screen :\. I'll probably stick with the PSP version, even if it's lacking characters and story.

I'm mainly interested in Dragon Quest and Kirby, although Lock's Quest might be quite interesting.

Damn spectrobes is looking awesome! Th original drawn to life was pretty boring, creating the character was fun but the actual game was a complete bore to me, this spongebob one looks a lot more exciting

Damn, there are a lot of good games coming out in September :|..

Edit: btw, is the Kirby Co-op, only through local, or also over WFC?
