They even can't, if you have instable WiFi access, and you're forcing an update to your 3DS, then your WiFi access will be very weak, or even go away, then your 3DS will be bricked.
I mean, same thing happened with Wii Menu 4.1 to 4.2, to many people.

... I don't think it works that way, in any device.. even when custom firmware installers in the wii uses the internet to get the ofw, they gather all the data needed before they start to update. Are you sure about that? (I never actually updated my wii through the official updater, so maybe I'm wrong on that one, but all my other devices that needed update first obtained the update data and then they started to install it.)

Presumably even when they have all the data they won't start updating without warning you in case you run out of battery during the update. The first thing you're commanded to do when you even check for updates is to plug into the mains.

That's a good point, but couldn't they nag you until you agree? They could insist that you update once all the files are safely on the system.

I already converted the New York time to Rotterdam time:
21:00 in NY = 3:00 in RD.
According to wiki, pacific time is to cities of western US. Meaning cities like Los Angeles, San Franscisco. NOT NEW YORK.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

My God, people have no clue nowadays.

Pacific Standard Time is UTC-8.
Most of Europe is UTC+1.
So the difference is 9 hours (and if US doesn't use daylight saving time, than it's 10 hours).

What time in the evening are we talking about, 5pm , 6pm....So I reckon the UK probably get the update like 1 am in the morning.
We will probably get while we asleep (assuming your bedtime is before 12:00)
