Nintendo 3DS supports multitasking
3DS apps shown

Finally we know what the home button on the Nintendo 3DS does.

The 3DS video reel above confirms multitasking is included in the new handheld. The video shows a woman playing a game and then pressing the home button to be booted back the the 3DS's operating system instantly. She then launches the web browser on the system, browses a few games, and then returns to where she left off in her game.

The feature is sure to be handy as you will be able to switch between a lot of features on the 3DS with ease. Another built-in app on the system appears to be a pedometer of sorts. Screens show an application with graphs of presumably distance traveled next to the time of day. The app would work with the help of the inbuilt accelerometer and gyro when the 3DS is running in sleep mode.

The 3DS will release in Japan on February 26, 2011 and worldwide sometime in March. The system will come with a 2GB SD card as well as a charging cradle.

Hell yes, that would be sweet! No need for an iPhone then ^^

That is so awesome!
But idd, if they would just add a simcard slot, and support for calling and 3G.. That would be sweet.

OMG that part when the guy puts the card on the table was SO AWESOME.
And I'm happy they postponed the release date.
I'll now have time to get it at launch.

Now this is awesome! And the Tag Mode looks brilliant too, now finally there's a chance to actually meet somebody else with a handheld! (coz I usually never see somebody with a DS, only rarely somebody with a PSP, like once in a blue moon)

Right now it's useless to walk around in Tag Mode in my city, even walking round with TWEWY or DQ9 will prove fruitless since the town is so big and there aren't that many gamers, so people assume that you have very small % of meeting somebody, which decreases even further because that person will probably not be in Tag Mode (drains battery more than sleep/off) and if yes, you have slim chances of having the same game. And I don't think you will exchange friend codes, so there's no point in it (except unlocking the DQ tavern). So now when it's gonna compare ALL games when you're in sleep mode ANd give you their info/Miis (it's gonna have probably even wider range), it will encourage people to bring their 3DS with them! Now that's ballistic!

Well this should be good since I can browse the net while playing(game guides, walkthrough). This con really kicks ass.

Yup, very handy feature (that we have been able to enjoy thanks to some kickass flashcards that offer a realtime menu)

wow this console i think can call it the next generation since i think 8th generation is 3ds and other 3d console ..

and wow !!! it really amaze me since they add in the function of multitasking and also sleep mode is so more useful as it can link up with other player and also message one another which is very advantageous ...

and i like the AR games since it is very challenging and it ultilise the 3d cam very well which is fun as u can play games just like the mosquitoes in the mobile nokia s60 last time .... but the thing is that have to buy those cards which sometime people might lose it or even torn the cards for not remember wat it does ....
