i was thinking could the exploit be used on the digital downloads too of the exploitable games or is the save files of the dl games encrypted differently or on the NAND?
Hacking Nintendo 3DS Hack Compilation
I'm just wondering if this Hack is patchable by the N or is it one of those "Wii" things where it's very difficult for them to fix it with a mere update? I'm sure what they found though is going to be the building blocks for the system to be completely hackable
You have to use a Retail game first. Then you can dump your movable.sed and use the exploit without a Retail game in the slot.
The current hack is easily patchable by Nintendo. They would patch it within a day after the hack got released.

The hack is confirmed to work with 4.5.0-10. But you should wait for a confirmation that it works with newer firmwares before you update. It's unlikely that Nintendo finds the exploit but you never know...

I want to donate to this thing, but the way they have it set up is really annoying. They should use anything that accepts paypal. I made an account at their stupid moneybookers site, but it won't even let me add funds to donate to them. It's really counter-productive.

There is another threat about the problem with paypal and you can look at the original screenshots in the "3DS Chip Decapping" threat (I think that you can find them at page ten or something like that).
because paypal is a terrible company and they always freeze accounts. when it happens, the money is typically frozen for 6+ months, if you get it back at all. if you are doing anything that falls in a gray area, avoid paypal like the plague.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.+1 -

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.+1 -
