It doesn't have the same power as the PS3 and shit.

It's visuals might come close, but you have to remember it's rendering them at a way lower resolution.

800x240 + 320x240 = 268,800 pixels per frame (192,000 actually used for heavy rendering if most games use the bottom screen as just a map/menu like it's designed).

Whereas the PS3 and shit can do 1080p, which means they have to render 2,073,600 pixels per frame.

So in order to achieve the same graphical quality as the PS3, the 3DS needs less than 1/6th of it's power since it's not rendering at nearly the same resolution.

I know it seems nitpicky, but it's a VERY important distinction when it comes to considering homebrew.

I hope we get a white 3DS.

Won't happen at least for the inside.
The outer shell could be white but the top part of the inside has to be black for the 3D effect.

Q: Is there any information yet on the strength of the hardware in the 3DS?
Yes there is.

Sauce plz?

Here you go.

but seriously, I found these specs:
QUOTE
CPU: 2 x 266MHz ARM11
GPU: PICA200 133MHz GPU by DMP
RAM: 64MB
Video RAM: 4MB
Storage: 1.5GB Flash-based

Considering the original DS ran at 64 and 33MHz with a few megabytes of RAM while the DSi simply doubled that, you can see why folks would be excited.

At the moment the Devkit does not support anti aliasing in "3D mode",
in "normal" Mode it is possible.
I think in future it will be also possible in "3D Mode".
