Introducing the newest member of the 3DS family – the Nintendo 2DS!

The Nintendo 2DS is a new touchscreen tablet that plays all your 3DS games. The second screen may not offer 3D, but you can still enjoy all the same games, downloads and online fun – and at a fraction of the price this is a great way to enjoy gaming on a budget.

The Nintendo 2DS comes in two colours – White and Red or Black and Blue – and includes a charger and a 4GB SD card.

First impression is that the balance/centre of gravity looks wrong for portable gaming using both stylus and traditional controls in the same game. I just think it'd be uncomfortable....this seems like a weird thing to do....

@Pong: Yeah, maybe the picture just doesn't load here.

Also reminds me off the Gameboy Micro (that nowadays is very rare and asked). However, why should I buy a non-3D-3DS?

Agreed.
When we open our 3DS/DS fully, it would look like a tablet. However, the buttons/d-pad are on the bottom part.
But Nintendo has proven that looks can be deceiving. Look at the Wii U controller. Ergonomic and solid built.

So remember how nintendo has to give a portion of every sales to that dude that sued them over the 3d technology? They wouldn't have to with this one :P

and whats the screen sizes n stuff? if the screens bigger or even the same as an xl i might buy it for pokemon. since gateway wont be able to go online or play a retail cart even

GameBoy Micro

wonder why still no second stick

Gameboy Micro was awesome though tbh I can see myself investing in one of these abominations to mankind while its a shame its not clamshell the 3D effect causes me eye issues and i couldnt justify buying a unit and paying for a feature I couldnt use, this changes that...

also given the size.. the battery life might be quite good

The fact that all the DS family since the very first one have had a clamshell design, and seeing Nintendo going away with it for no reason is disappointing.

Did I mention this thing looks freakin' hideous?

Are you being for real, cause that's hard to believe, DK is Nintendo and made in japan, Sea of thieves was from Microsoft, in America. I'm not calling you a liar, just didn't know.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Ok yes they were both made by Rare, but DK was from Rare back then, Rare now is owned by MS. So makes since.
