Hacking Newbie question on supercard

I just receive my supercard with superkey.
The package didn't come with any cables.
I want to ask what is the best way to connect the supercard to my computer for updates and downloads?

You need an appropriate card reader for whichever model of card your SC uses.

So I get a cardreader and put all the updates on the micro sd first then put the card in my ndsl and update my supercard? Is that the right steps?
