Too early to tell.
He modified the HDD FW to exploit the system.
I don't know if it's "just " an entrypoint (like THWL or RBB) to chainload BadUpdate afterwards, or if it's something new all together.
The boottime is very good however, which could be either a fast BadUpdate attempt or somthing else that is a) more reliable and b) faster than BadUpdate - again, too early to tell.
I’m imagining FreeHDBoot for 360 ;)

Anyone else having issues with Splinter Cell Blacklist and Aurora swapping discs?

No matter what folder structure I use I get an error and total system lock up.

Splinter Cell Blacklist folder>

I've tried naming both sub folders Disc and Disk 1 & 2, but the system throws an error message and locks up at the mission where it should swap the disc.

-----

Splinter Cell Blacklist folder with Disc 1 contents>

Disc 2 sub folder.

Same error and lock. Does it just not play well with the auto disc swap function?

The only other multi disc game I have is Aliens Isolation, after installing disc 1, I believe it auto swapped as I could start and play the game with no trouble.

I'm pretty sure thats not the right structure for extracted xiso. Is this how it is supposed to work via RGH?

Don't know about badupdate, but on Jtag/RGH both ways should work fine like that with Aurora.

/gamename (contents of disc 1)
/gamename/Disc 2 (contents of Disc 2).

That should work fine.

/gamename/Disc 1 (contents of Disc 1)
/gamename/Disc 2 (contents of Disc 2)

and so on also works fine on RGH/Jtag, just the second method will make Aurora show all the discs on the main menu.

Apparently there's a new exploit called ABadAvatar that I've stumbled upon on Reddit and a few Spanish forums. Anyone knows anything about it?
Here's one of the videos:

There are a couple of others as well.

I have tested it, it must have improved a bit but it is really good and it works

The repo is exactly the same as BadUpdate 🤔
No release so far?
That's what I thought as well. The only thing I've seen floating around was a certain archive on Google Drive or something:

IMPORTANT: I haven't tested any of these files so, if someone's willing to test them out, be careful. I'd rather way for a confirmation of someone more knowledgeable that these are safe to be used.

From here: https://www.reddit.com/r/360hacks/comments/1ngl1rn/an_avatar_exploit/ i.e. from the YouTube video provided by OP.

I've tried 10 times and it doesn't work for me. Maybe I'm missing a step?

I copied the contents onto a freshly formatted drive, loaded up the 360, and plugged in the USB. I get a BadAvatar message popup, followed by a game error.

Copied over my working Badupdate to the new drive and dropped the BadAvatar contents over and still the same error.

Do you have the Avatar data installed?

Yes, I can create avatars. I used another video of MrMario's when I was prepping for badupdate to install the avatar data.

This version 1.1 gives the same error.

Checking storage > Avatar items - every single one says Corrupted but I can still edit or create new avatars?

doh! the default.xex wasn't in the badupdate payload folder.

Now all working, much better than the rockband method as it'll boot straight to Aurora once you power on and exit xeunshackle.

It would be nice if xeunshackle could auto exit.

Cool :yayswitch:
Where do all these Google Drive links come from?
I got that 1.1 from here -

I risked it and so far it has worked 9 times out of 10.

Oh, looks like there's an auto exit version on the github comments.

https://github.com/Byrom90/XeUnshackle/pull/54

Power on straight into Aurora. :toot:

change the time to 0.00 in XeUnshackleAutoStart.txt

Last edited by PopperTop,
If the time in XeUnshackleAutoStart.txt is set to 0.00 will it skip enabling live block since it skips the blue confirmation screen?

Who made the avatar bad update?
Like this is crazy that we can't find the author and give credit for whoever did the work on this (or at least. I certainly can't)

shutterbug2000 developed this.

Here's the latest beta 1.1 public release that just got posted to Xbox 360 Hub by the dev. I've uploaded it here for ease of finding it. As it's a beta, use it at your own risk.
