i have a 2 disc game that i can launch and play......but can't say for certain if all features work as only played for few minutes and continued testing other games. used default settings in iso2god
Start the second disc first, it will prompt you to switch to the first disc, if you didn't progress far enough.

How to run this exploit from HDD without USB ?
the exploit files are placed on the root of the usb, i don't think it'd work if you copy them to the root of hdd1, but hey worth a try?
Does this also allow original Xbox games to work without any other patches? Has anyone else tried this?
the OG Xbox emulator should be accessible as normal, so yes in theory it should boot OG xbox games (the ones that're compatible). Tho im not sure you can update it with the latest hacked version, and it's risky since it has to write data to the hddx partition thus it might conflict with the system and how it runs things imo

It could possibly be done with modifications. The default.xex to be launched would need to be injected into the save container.

Or use the exploit as-is and copy the files to the HDD, but still the exploit would need to be updated to work like that first with an alternate version.
Though I am not sure why one would want this as everything on USB makes it much easier unless your USB ports are all in use.

many of the blockages produced by this exploit are because the usb device did enter in rest mode while processing the exploit. Notice that, when this is happening the 3 led lights in the console are green. The console just blocked trying to notify success. I hope the author did notice this fact.

I would like to not insert a pendrive every time. Put everything on HDD, it will probably load faster because there is no USB 3.0 there, only 2.0. The path is probably contained in the file "DaTArrest_Xbox360BadUpdate" which cannot be edited directly. Because when I put everything on HDD it freezes the game Rock Band Blitz and there is no inscription "running exploit".

Ahh I see I don't use iso2god. I just play games directly from xex menu in extracted format. I might have to switch to iso2god for or maybe dash launch for multi disc games

So far, this is the best thing to use with Bad Update. I have tried three XGD3 games and they all worked without having to be patched.
And I mention this because these (XGD3) are the only games (some, not all?) that had issues with fmxe by giving errors and going back to the dashboard. You can also use title updates and DLC.

Also, Original Xbox games will not freeze upon boot. And I almost forgot to mention that when using trainers with Aurora, and this is either being done from the XeUnshackle or the Nova plugin from Aurora, but after exiting a game while using a trainer, the system will stutter a bit, and the trainer will be thankfully unloaded so the system does not have to be restarted to avoid freezing like it did before with me.
I had Nova disabled before when using fmxe to avoid freezes with Original Xbox games. Perhaps the Nova plugin is doing this. Perhaps someone else can elaborate.

^the problem is not XGD3. The problem is that all content that can be found out there today, is patched with I don't know tools. Just find the original files and there is no problem with Badupdate.

With the new XeUnshackle, everything works perfectly, just like in RGH. Xbox Classic, emulators, GOD and XEX games with updates via Aurora and DLC, arcade games, and indie games also work perfectly.
It's no longer necessary to patch XEX.
In fact, if you have patched XEX, it's better to get clean XEX or convert the ISOs back to clean GOD or XEX.

The three I mentioned are from my own personal collection.

1. Skyrim

2. MGSV TPP

3. Dragon Age Inquisition.
(idiotically, the second disc from this one cannot be normally installed so they want you to run it from disc with only disc one content installed)

And another great thing about this new patcher app/tool xeu, is that you can run games that are installed from disc and normally require it to be in the tray to work and will boot without asking for the disc in the dashboard. No having to patch them to the on demand format.

No patching has been required since FreeMyXe Beta 5 either. I've had no problems with clean ISOs extracted by extract-xiso + FreeMyXe (title updates, DLC, the works) and random homebrew.

It depends on the game. I was also using that but some games (like the ones I listed) still were not playable in extracted format with fmxe beta 5.

Xeunshackle is overall better, except for maybe homebrew. Trying to boot Genesis Plus 360 0.18 goes back to the dashboard. GP360 0.18 loads when using fmxe beta 5. There really is no reason to use that port anyway though.
It will not even detect ROMs on the USB storage device so I just use the NeoGenesis homebrew for Original Xbox, which works great with the patched Fusion emulator (xefu 2019 version) and the only issue it seems to have is background music on the menu (by mega driver) stutters a bit. Not to mention it is updated more often.
