Actually, DoubleSpace and DriveSpace (DOS 6.22's and 7.x's DoubleSpace) do not work on DOSBox. I tried.

They both require a special driver (DBLSPACE.BIN or DRVSPACE.BIN) to work, and there didn't seem to be a way to load those on DOSBOX. I didn't spend much time on it though since it wouldn't be of much use with today's storage capacity.

Dude, you kind of... forgot to write something...

ONTOPIC: Sometimes I wonder if the Wii's firmware is incapable of being overhauled in any huge way.
Even the SD Card Menu is just a disguised way of loading a wad into the Wii's onboard memory, which pretty much ruins the whole purpose. So maybe we'll never see any awesome things like that ever again. If that's the case...

...Well, then, way to screw yourself over, Ninty.

It seems like they chose this system structure and its kind of solid. From what i understand about the way the Wii works, which is very limited, its very difficult to change the way it works and loads games. they will have to implement the AP on the game. maybe they can add more code and checks to the system menu but that is a very weak way of addressing the issue, ala 4.2 checking for title names and installing stubs with the update.

use safari, its much faster and better(even on windows)

on topic: i seriously doubt ninty will add any kind of memory enhancement in any upcoming update. what i would like is a usb menu like there is an sd card menu. that way i could put my wiiware on my hard drive and still be able to play online.

Wow, you can't blame nintendo. You have to remember that the previous ERA, (Gamecube Vs. Xbox Vs. PS2), the Gamecube had the best secutriy available back then. The PS2s and Xboxs were being hacked as hell while the gamecube owners had to have a braodband and PSO to play backups. Of course when the drive chips were invented, all hell broke lose for the GC-scene which was on it's way out. Nintendo may have rested on it's laurels but you can bet the next system it realeses would have better security. If we didn't have such talented coders in the homebrew scene, the wii will not be hacked as hell now, so give them some credit too

Yea seriously we have some really talented hackers in the Wii scene and are extremely lucky to have them. And we should definitely be greatfull too.
