Due to computer problems and needing to send it off for repair, more delay

I really do appologize everyone...

We're looking for quality
No need to rush.
You put yourself out of your own time and energy to make this. ^^
Besides, I'm sure many are busy with Tales of Innocence and Dragon Quest IX
tongue.gif

so you've got lots of time to relax

I try to spend all the time I can on it and want to have more done by now, but I keep having things come up and glitches/imperfections are constantly being found...

Thanks for all your support, guys, but I wish I could get more out for you...

Well is there any other way I can support you
I've been available as a tester since the beginning
but, if there's more you need out of the supporters you
just feel free to ask
I have a lot of time on my hands =/

I did a quick skim and couldn't find any info regarding my problem so I'll go ahead and fire away. I am trying the latest version 2.51 with a clean psyfer rom on my R4 with wood v10, and after launching the game I get the Nintendo logo with the coin sound, then it goes to black screens on top and bottom and sits there. Any ideas? I would really love to try this.

There are many people who have this problem with NSMB hacks.
You can try to get the official firmware from R4, works great with all versions, I use 1.18
Or get an other flashcard... but thats not a good idea. I think.

Oh, and JCeggbert, the current ROM may be bad or something.
It works fine, but TokyoTrim says it is incorrectly trimmed and cuts off the icon as seen in the flashcart file browser. This doesn't happen with the official game. Thanks for listening!

I am aware with that bug - due to a glitch in the editor (5.0) that I was using at that time, the icon data kept being overwritten with level and image data, so I had to modify it so that data is at the end of the ROM and why TokyoTrim was yelling about it... That will be fixed in the next release and it should trim properly AFTER patching... I will test before release...

I will become WAY more active in this project in about a week or a week and a half and you should expect lots of progress during the summer!

Zeldamoron: When I am back on the project, expect a PM from me with a beta version.

Twiztidsinz: Same for you

Don't get it wrong eggbert, but no one can be a beta tester who isn't making a hack by him-/herself!
Because only this guys who made some levels will know the exact known bugs
biggrin.gif

As I said, download your latest one and I'll check your levels
tongue.gif

I think I'm the best beta tester you can get here lol -.-

But I can't compare the heights /lenghts of the blocks or something!!
I would just test the technical stuff not the optical!

If I only made you a beta tester, would that be fair to the other testers I have already?

Also, even though I didn't mention it in my previous post, I meant to say that there are a few secret testers that currently only I know of and will alert them when the beta is ready...

Also, I will do my best to make it 'optically' (as you put it) as close as I can to the original before beta...

edit: and stop arguing! If you're chosen, you're chosen... If you're not, you're not
tongue.gif

I will post here when the PM has been sent, but I will not tell who is getting it...

And, if you are chosen, please report bugs via PM and not here...

edit2: I'm not only looking for NSMB Hackers to do it, but also graphics makers (or whatever they're called) to check to see if my graphics are OK, and some hardcore SMB1 and SMBLL players to point out anything I missed - my maps that I am using might be incomplete...

Well, some people who are Lost Level/SMB freaks can test lol.
They know how its suposed to look, but you are right - if you are making the
hack by yourself, you can check it way better^^

@JCeggbert5:

Maybe a tip:
If you can, work on the hack (I mean the levels) With 2 people, so you both can see
how you made it. your friend makes levels, and tests his own and yours. same goes for you.
you will have twice faster the levels, and twice faster testing, and maybe less bugs^^
I mean, you and your friend tests your level (and your friend's), so there are 2 testers, for one level.
(if you want!)

however its not a good idea when you want to make the hack alone.

EDIT: sorry if this sounds a lil' complicated

Remember eggbert^^
You can make what you want, you can't beat my hack ahahahah...

But there are some stuff, which I made wrong from the begining...
However, my final release will be rleased very soon

(this year lol)

EDIT: Off-topic but nevermind, I got my new internet!
God dammit, what a speed

Good idea, but I prefer to work alone, mainly because I don't want to have to check someone elses work, tile for tile, and have someone else look over mine, tile for tile, which can take more than the time for one person to do it all...

Also, star coin placement, because I like to morph the level around the coins in some cases (look at 1-2, coins 2 and 3), where as some others don't...

Just a personal preference

Yeah that's true

Alright, everyone, RELEASE IS IMMINENT in the next few days... Testers, expect a beta tomorrow (Aug 2, 2010) by midnight GMT-5 (Central Daylight Time).

Everyone else: expect later this week.

I have a few bugs to work out with scrolling which is the only thing holding me up from releasing to testers tonight. Once I get bug reports form 2/3 of them, I will release if nothing major is found
biggrin.gif

Also, to avoid confusion, I am going to release as Demo 3.

Over the next 2-3 weeks, there will be lots of progress in NRMB

Well, the plan is to make it with no bugs at all that can't be fixed because of NSMB not having the exact selection of stuff that SMB had... (like there is a graphical glitch with my homemade invisible mini mushroom block that I can't fix...)

Hopefully, though, by the next release after this one, I will be able to make better [?] blocks and bricks...

The ones that are in right now aren't very good...
