Hardware New patched consoles

So I've got a new switch console on the way, and am concerned about it being a patched one, so was wondering, are the new patched switches very common? Or is it just hit and miss?

It depends on the serial number. As time goes on, more and more patched units will appear in stores so get 'em while they're hot. Check here for more info about which serial numbers may be patched or not: https://gbatemp.net/threads/switch-informations-by-serial-number.481215/

Do you know if the new Hekate v4.8 will work on my console XAJ400640XXXX Status patched.
There is no option for consoles that are patched?
