Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate just received a new trailer this morning courtesy of Capcom. The trailer was showcased at the New York Comic Con today. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is on track for a March 2013 release on the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

Cross platform Saves and cross platform Online looks interesting. Currently the only other title that will do this is the new smach bros I think.

Looking really good! Even if it isn't built from the ground up, 1080p Monster Hunter makes me happy.

I don't post news anymore. Or else I would have already posted this. ;)

To clarify, it's cross platform local multiplayer, not online. The 3DS version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate does not have online play.

Oh right, forgot about that. I keep thinking about MH4.

I found their 3ds footage in that trailer to be quite downplayed* and as such quite amusing, I know why it was done but it was still amusing.

*that said it was more than splice some footage and do a text overlay so I can appreciate the effort there.

I still do not care for MH games but if Capcom can get some of those ideas going on in a game I might bring myself to care about that would be good.

And this is where I plead to the world to wish -- VERY, VERY HARD -- that the WiiU can tunnel the 3DS online through an official means.
Give up.

Online tunneling would be a useful feature for those with a Wii U, a 3DS, and MonHun 3U for 3DS.
However, if you have all this, I'm quite sure what Capcom really wants you to do is to buy the Wii U version. The online component is the major selling point of 3U for Wii U. You want them to take that away?

Besides, it's far too late for them to add such a thing now. Just fucking wait for MH4 if you want a 3DS MonHun with online multiplayer so much.

Quite awesome. Even though the 3DS version doesnt have online, the ability to be able to transfer my save and hunt for stuff on the go is very appreciated. Personally I always got much more invested in the handheld versions compared to the console ones, though I plan to buy both versions day one

Bummer. Still looking pretty kick ass so far though

I wasn't really talking about MH online. It's more like "everything else online". Starfox 643D could use some online. Streetpassing other 3DS owners on Miiverse! That should be cool, and a welcome sigh for people who live in the middle of nowhere that feel like they've been left on the sidelines.

I don't really give a flying rat's ass what Capcom wants though. Besides, why wouldn't Capcom want you to buy a WiiU so that you can take you 3DS online? That just means more platform you own where Nintendo and Capcom can sell you more stuff on those platforms. They can push you to buy two copies of a game instead of just one! What company does not want that?
