New Joy-con will not work (while connected) on OLED consoles but works fine with v2 Switch

I bought a brand new joy-con that seems to work fine on an older v2 switch but will not work on either of the two OLED switches I have.

What is even more interesting, one of the OLED systems is a modded system and the controller works fine while connected in Hetake But then quits working once you boot CFW or OFW.


It connects fine with all three systems via bluetooth.

Any suggestions?

You can try to update the joycon firmware, the joycon have their own firmware.

Thanks for the suggestion.

This did not work. Tried updating on the v2 switch that it works on and the OLED switch. Just says it is up-to-date.

Found the problem for anyone who comes across this.

It looks like the machine that soldered the rails had a malfunction. Solder was spit all over the place bridging some of the solder points together. Once I cleaned up the solder, everything started working perfectly fine.
