I'm honestly kind of disappointed by the small list of available launch titles on the eShop considering we had to wait such an amount of time.

I think it's really disappointing. I know this is to be expected but for the amount of time it took to release this stuff it is so difficult to maintain interest in this console.

Now let me consider this...

Won't it lag if it has flash enabled? (during a game)
Maybe there's a reason why there is no plug ins or whatever.

I won't expect third-party browsers on the eShop though.
A YouTube app might be nice, but extremely unlikely.

Why would a Youtube app be so unlikely?
Cuz its nintendo
Massively pissed that Ninty are being LAZY with it. Why can't they go the whole hog? Anyway, no use complaining to you guys, you're all pissed or unsurprised as well. Let's see what happens when a protestant mob show up outside Reggie's door anyway... oh yes, it will be organised, don't you worry.

I don't think they're lazy. I believe it's because of possible lagging as you can use the browser in the midst of a game. Technology nowadays caused us all to be so impatient, just one lag and we all start screaming.

Yes, I said this to comfort myself.

Do you even think it will land in the eShop? I don't really have high hopes.

I really don't know, honestly. Maybe the N believes they'll have the whole video thing covered when they launch Netflix here in the states.

Thank god I own a US 3DS.

But wait... Netflix requires payment.

EDIT: Now, I just pray for a YouTube app. Not 3D? I'm fine with it. I just want to watch my fav vids on-the-go.

No adobe flash was obvious, nintendo don't want web based exploits to hit their new console...

Haha. How about:
- Nintendo is too lazy and generally couldn't care less about added value
- Nintendo didn't want to pay royalties to Adobe
- if Flash was there, people would play all these simple 2D games in Flash - for free - rather than spending money in Nintendo's eShop. C'mon, games like ExciteBike could be written in a week...

Generally, I think 3DS might not be as successful as DS was. Nowadays people have higher expectations for mobile devices; even cheap cellphones records & play video, why $250 3DS doesn't ? People expect Facebook connectivity, built-in Twitter, free stuff. NGP might be more successful this time, who knows?

The game and the browser DO NOT run in parallel. There is no multitasking. The game is suspended, you browse web, you quit the browser, then you go back to the game. Where would the lags come from ?

the browser can directly display 3D picture data in the MPO format.

This makes me sad - this means the browser will work in the stereoscopic 2x 400x240 mode, while I was hoping for sharper 800x240. Resolution is extremely important when it comes to readability of web pages and 3DS' screen certainly doesn't shine here (less pixels even than PSP).

I'm just saying that to comfort myself.

I have a strong feeling that the NGP will overthrow the 3DS now...
