Hardware new 2ds circle pad c stick mod

is it possible to replace the flimsy "c stick" from the new 2ds with an actual circle pad?... they both have the same ammount of contacts on the ribbon cable but im unsure if the contacts on one may corrospond to something else on the other, and most importantly if it will even fit in the ribbon cable connector for thec stick soo... any help on that here?

I would guess not, because the right analogue stick is an isometric joystick which I'm sure will have a different output to a potentiometer-based analogue stick.

You might be able to hack up a Circle Pad Pro and integrate the components into the N2DS shell using the IRDA interface. Probably not much fun though.

Moreover, you might find using a full-size right circle pad worse for moving the camera than the isometric joystick. Nintendo could have easily put a right circle pad in for the camera, but they didn't and I think that was wise.
