Download My Neogamma Package HERE!

it includes the following
-Neogamma Forwarder Channel - BKCW
(this channel does NOT stack dump when exiting Neogamma)

the channel forwards to the following Directories:
SD:/apps/neogamma/boot.dol
SD:/apps/neogamma/boot.elf
USB:/apps/neogamma/boot.dol
USB:/apps/neogamma/boot.elf
-it also includes the Neogamma R8 RC1 app for the Homebrew Channel

*Note that Neogamma will not work with cIOS249 rev 15 or rev16, you must use cIOS249 rev17 (or rev14 or 13) or another compatible cIOS.
*Note that the forwarder channel requires an SD card or a FAT32 hard drive (with neogamma in the apps folder) connected to your wii for it to work

(the forwarder looks exactly like this channel on youtube (by vettacossx), except I inserted new dols and changed the title and the title ID)

Download the Neogamma Package Here!

-note that the bundle also includes a small/short audio track made by my cousin Violator, he's awesome and gonna be famous one day so enjoy

servers overloaded have to wait (unless you wanna pay)

That's total BS.

Indeed. 4.2 is perfectly stable and the brick risk from the boot2 update has been found to be only marginally less safe than, say, installing BootMii.

Hey there,

for all those who requested an option to select between IOS199 and IOS249 i made a quick modification based on the current R8-RC1.

In the menu just press 1 for IOS199 and 2 for IOS249. The status bar shows you the current loaded IOS.
Because the original neogamma loader already saves the IOS selection (hardcoded to IOS249 in the original source), your last selection is automatically loaded after a restart (with a fall back to IOS249). Don't forget to enable save config. But it's only a global setting for all games. Next step would be to enhance the config.c to save several profiles for different games.

source files modified:
geckomenu.c (u.a. handle WPAD_BUTTON_1 and WPAD_BUTTON_2)
geckomenu.h (u32 screenheight)
main.c (use global screenheight variable declared in geckomenu.h)
(screenheight is needed to redraw the status bar)

Please notice that this is a quick'n'dirty solution. Use at own risk!

Is someone going to release an autoboot version of NeoGamma R8 b17 (with video set disc) like the old NeoGamma r7?
It should be awesome

Why would Neogamma beta 17 be incompatible with 4.2??

I want to see the reasoning behind that. It does not modify IOS70 files, or patches anything in the NAND, just uses an unused IOS slot.

Bula may work on that, see the post below

QUOTE(xflak40 @ Jan 17 2010, 06:06 AM) bula, is this an autoboot version, or does it just remove the first screen saying "you are using cIOS r17, to get better compatability use cIOS r13b or 14", or both?

Just removed first screen, maybe tomorrow will work on that if I get some time.

i think this is a communication problem, I think Sabin_Figaro is trying to say updating to 4.2 is dangerous, not using neogamma on 4.2 is dangerous. Either way, he is wrong. Updating to 4.2 is safe, especially if u use the offline method on this forum, but even if u were to update via nintendo it is still pretty safe (just make sure u have a good internet connection and stable power source).

And neogamma is safe to use on any wii, it does not touch your nand in any way, so don't let Sabin_Figaro scare you

?

R8 RC1 contains the necessary autoboot code. It waits a few seconds to check if any button is pressed, then starts the game. But it does it with the regular graphics, so in case of an error you get the error message and are in the menu.

when u say the regular graphics, does it use the settings in the neogamma.cfg file? ie, if I've saved the settings to launch games in the Wii's video mode (instead of the neogamma disk default) will it still launch using those custom settings?

Would it be possible to customize how many seconds it waits to see if a button is pressed before autobooting a game? Perhaps this setting can also be saved in the neogamma.cfg file?

What do you think?

It loads the config and the timeouts(there are 3) can be changed of course. Since the official release won't get the autoboot feature, i won't add stuff related to it to the config.

sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but what 3 timeouts are there? (until today i didn't know there was an autoboot/timeout feature)

I know u dont want to add an autoboot feature to this app, and I respect that... but may I ask why you are so against it? I bet it would be really easy for u to add how many seconds to wait before autobooting to the config file, and I would trust a release from u more than another autoboot neogamma mod.

I hope I don't come off as complaining.

Thanks for the awesome RC.

Wait 1 second (after wpad init, the wii motes are not connected directly)
Show banner
Wait 3 seconds for button press

:Autoboot
Start game
Show menu

:Abort
Display "Autoboot canceled"
Wait 3 seconds(if A button was tapped to cancel the autoboot...)
Show menu

wiipower, 2 quick Q's

#1, to modify to your source to autoboot a game right away, would i just remove the +1 and +3 from the code below (or is there something else I have to change?)

CODE/*ÂÂÂÂ// Autoboot code part 1
ÂÂÂÂtime_t t;
ÂÂÂÂt = time(NULL) + 1; // Wait 1 to finish wpad init process
ÂÂÂÂwhile (time(NULL) < t);
*/
ÂÂÂÂDrawBackground(rmode); // Show banner
ÂÂÂÂVIDEO_WaitVSync();
ÂÂÂÂ
/*ÂÂÂÂ// Autoboot code part 2
ÂÂÂÂt = time(NULL) + 3; // Wait 3 seconds for button press to cancel autoboot
ÂÂÂÂbool autoboot = true;

#2, I tried compiling the RC1 source (without making any changes), and I'm using the recommended library (libogcr3821mod) and it is successfully compiling a binary for me but I am getting the following warnings/errors. Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong? Any help is much appreciated.

Code:
> "make"

bin2s -a 32 /c/projects/NeogammaRC1/data/background.png | powerpc-eabi-as -o background.png.o
echo "extern const u8" `(echo background.png | sed -e 's/^\([0-9]\)/_\1/' | tr . _)`"_end[];" > `(echo background.png | tr . _)`.h
