4.1u
neogamma r8 15
ios 249 r14

verbatim dvd-r's burnt at 4X or 2X

all disks except originals give error 1048 in neogamma. Tested same disks in second system with identical specs and the games all work fine. No specific games this is every single game i put in except originals.

softmodded close to 50 wii's never seen this problem.

thinking of updating to 4.2u and then redoing everything.

any ideas why this would be happening with every disk?

removed all channels updated to 4.2u via wii settings test connection.
followed guide for modding 4.2 from http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=171901

1048 error on all disks except originals still with neogamma r8
1101 error on all disks except originals still with neogamma r7

what is up with this console.

this is not a brand new wii.
serial is LU39...

could this just be the laser.... seems unlikely to me and I dont' want to open it if i don't have to.
i haven't tried the usb loader gx. will test that next however i need it to play from dvd rather than usb if possible.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

disregard. apparently this serial has a new drive in it that will not play dvd-r's at all. something to do with chipset.
I did a few google searches and found some info on it.

I read on a few sites it is the chipset and a few others say its the laser. i am going to change out laser and see if that works if not i will swap the dvd drive out with an older one and see if it works.

I have the same problem and it is annoying me. I tried re-installing everything but it still has the same problem but I found a solution for this.

I reburned the problemic titles on to Memorex DVD+R @ 2.4x and it works now.

Neogamma could be sensitive to certain types of media or how they are burned and that's all I have so far... If someone can shead some light that would be great.

All my titles worked before when I had my modchip installed.

Guys.. Guys..
That's the problem!!

Wii's can ONLY read DVD-R media, NOT DVD+R!!!!
Try again writting the game on a DVD-R disc (Verbatim or TDK).

if they are new wii then most likely they will have d3-2 drives which prevent loading any type of disk backup and can only play backups via usb

This information is wrong, I just loaded Wii Music off a DVD+R via softmod

Your Wii most likely has the D3-2 chipset and will NOT read burned DVDs at all.

think again have burnt close to 200 dvd's using +R media ... all work, load, play fine.
Just need to set book-type to DVD-ROM in burning software, then can use either +R / -R !!!

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
