Has anyone tried riivolution under NEEK2O? It's my understanding that it works by hot-patching DI access in a similar way to NEEK but would the two processes sit comfortably 'on top' of each other or just get in each other's way?

EDIT: Just tried it and no, it doesn't work. :(

Is the working game in a different format than the not working games? Do these games work from the disc channel?

The problem with Kirby could be any enabled patch, does NeoGamma warn about those?

And Skyward Sword seems to dislike Ocarina, did you have it enabled?

What about Sneek's patch options, did you have any of those enabled? I'm not sure if they are only applied when playing via the disc channel.

Also i can confirm, that the partition does NOT have to be active, just primary..

To all people with black screens after setting up neek2o and the emunand, please check your cluster size..this is usually the number one reason neek2o does not start up.

32KB is the recommended size..

Thanks for the testing. Your results are confusing, a time out in NeoGamma itself looks like an IOS/hardware problem, but the games work for you from disc channel.

And this format is used when the number of games is >65535? And the actual number of games is using the 2 lower bytes of the u32 for the number?

Did you guys check out sneek r183 with USB gecko plugged in? It boots without having to read output from device! It seems that the following changes related to USB gecko might be responsible for it:

-Commented unused USBGecko code out
-Commented some debug printfs out

Any possibility of implementing those in neek2o so there's no need to unplug the device?

@kraqh3d:
Maybe you could try using a smaller cluster size, like I mentioned earlier. My HDD only works with 8 KB clusters, anything larger causes the nands not to boot.

Is there any way of editing something involving the neek2o configuration so that when the emu-nand's priiloader is set to "System Menu" you can have it launch a specific nand?

right now it's launching nand2 and I'd like it to load nand1. Both nands are in usb://nands/.

Thanks!

Yesss, thanks for the tip!
Been wrestling with getting uneek going on my 300gig hdd (already had it goin on a 4gig thumb) for a bit, and finally got that sukka runnin today.
I thought it was formatted proper, but upon looking i found it was at 64KB clusters..so i bit the bullet and reformatted with 32KB allocation, and BINGO! uneek is booting up, and really fast too=)

Now to put all my wbfs backups back on =P actually, it's a good reason to 'clean house' on some long unplayed games =)

@leic7
this sure is interesting information.
@madhartigan
I don't really understand your problem. Once priiloader is running, the selected nand is already active.
You can select another nand in the neek2o overlay menu, and the next time, it will again boot that nand.
Postloader used to have a nand selection option. This will give you a way to select your nand just before you boot into neek2o.
But again, maybe I don't truly understand what you are trying to do.

Hi guys,

I am currently having Sneek+DI and never updated it for the last 1 year. Since some new games are not working should I ship using NEEK2O because I heard it is more updated/compatible to most games, and can you direct how to do this if there are any easy way to convert my SNEEK+DI to NEEK2O?

I know this is off topic but if ever I need to start from scratch with NEEK2O, instead of going to NEEK2O is there any guide I can follow to update my SNEEK+DI to play latest games?

Thank you in advance for your comments and suggestions...

I am glad that helped, indeed 64KB clustersize won't work with neek2o..but i did not test lower than 32KB...although lower can also be tried (crazycaveman commented erlier that 8 KB works), 32 KB does have the best performance...

I found a problem, but I'm not convinced it's why the emu nand wouldn't load though. Apparently my drive is dying. I found a bunch of games that used to work that now didn't. I'm in the process of trying to salvage what I can. The emu nand was not in a bad sector, but a whole bunch of games are as I can't copy them. I'll attempt to do a full reformat the drive with 32K clusters for giggles for further testing. (Yeah, a full reformat will take a damn long time, but I hope it'll mark all the bad sectors as unusable. I'll just let it run overnight.)

@obcd - I understand what you're saying and I'm familiar with nand switching in PL3. My problem is that from a powered off wii, I use priiloader on the real-nand to to autoboot PL3. PL3 then autolaunches the nswitch channel that's on my USB and *that* boot.dol launches my neek2o environment. I want to manually select what nand is being launched in that situation. I thought it would automatically select the first nand (nand1) in the folder, but it skipped that and selected the second (nand2).

Basically, my goal is to have the Wii boot into a barebones system menu (neek2o+di) through which I can access all my Wii backup discs. (This keeps the "Wii SM Environment for the majority of games that will be played on the system) Then, when I want to access my collection of >400 VC/WW games, I'll use the PL3 channel on the barebones neek2o SM environment and once in PL3, I can access all of my VC/WW games.

I know that PL3 has the di feature, so I could solely use PL3, but my users like the look of the SM in neek2o and would prefer to remain in that environment other than for VC/WW needs.

Does that make any sense? (god, I hope so. Lol! )
