@obcd - I understand what you're saying and I'm familiar with nand switching in PL3. My problem is that from a powered off wii, I use priiloader on the real-nand to to autoboot PL3. PL3 then autolaunches the nswitch channel that's on my USB and *that* boot.dol launches my neek2o environment. I want to manually select what nand is being launched in that situation. I thought it would automatically select the first nand (nand1) in the folder, but it skipped that and selected the second (nand2).

Basically, my goal is to have the Wii boot into a barebones system menu (neek2o+di) through which I can access all my Wii backup discs. (This keeps the "Wii SM Environment for the majority of games that will be played on the system) Then, when I want to access my collection of >400 VC/WW games, I'll use the PL3 channel on the barebones neek2o SM environment and once in PL3, I can access all of my VC/WW games.

I know that PL3 has the di feature, so I could solely use PL3, but my users like the look of the SM in neek2o and would prefer to remain in that environment other than for VC/WW needs.

Does that make any sense? (god, I hope so. Lol! )
If you have a folder nand1 and nand2 and it's booting nand2 you will need to delete usb:\\sneek\nandconfig I believe and it will then boot up nand1 the next time you boot up neek2o. It has been mentioned that if you change anything to your nands you need to delete this file every time :)

May the mog be with you :moogle:

ppl that have problems with autobooting neek2o with the nswitch app installed in Priiloader AND have the neek2o channel installed by shortz1994 (with the updated nswitch app) might wanna try to install THIS in Priiloader

I just autoboot into PL3< nswitch :) it's pretty simple; if hdd is disconnected then it just black screens and most people a.k.a my son (who is only 1) can't mess it up :)

EDIT: I just thought about this and am not sure if anybody has brought it up, but are we still hindered by the splitting of games into wbfs? like how some games will only work properly if split into 2GB sections while others may work correctly if kept as a whole?

I ask cause I have read in the past that certain games will only work properly if split 2GB; I think Metroid:other m, SSBB, are the only 2 that come to mind but I could have gotten the info mixed up. Well thanks in advance.

that just a channel forwarder? ie. the dol for the new channel just launches channel with title ID NK20?
Yes, nothing more, nothing less...

Some ppl found out that launching the neek2o channel with Priiloader worked for them, but since Priiloader can't autoboot a channel this dol could be a solution for them.

Size of splits doesn't matter. neek2o supports upto 10 splits each game

use ModMii, from the main menu enter "S" then "3", then follow the prompts

Thank you XFlak for leading me to your awesome work, quick NOOB questions:

a. Once I did that, I will update my Sneek+DI right and play latest games?
b. Is there an easy way to use my games in ISO? Or should I still convert it like before? If I need to convert it like before, Is there a tool I can use to rename it?
c. I did not get my previous load games before using SNEEK+DI, is there a way to do this so I can use my save files on SNEEK+DI?
f. If ever I decided to go with NEEK2O, can I use your tool to do that? If there is any guide, please direct me.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply.

@ocihc80,
ModMii supports both neek2o and the original neek. The default settings will build neek2o, if u want to build the original neek you need to disable the neek2o option on ModMii's Options page.

neek2o supports both fst format and wbfs format. So it's up to you which to use. I prefer wbfs for the most part, and u can use WiiBackupManager to convert games to that format (download it from ModMii's download page 2).

You can copy save files to an emulated nand using savegame manager gx or Krafter's nand game save restorer (google for it). Heck you can even use showmiiwads (SMW and SGMgx available on ModMii's DL page 2).

You forgot to mention SaveFinder< http://gbatemp.net/topic/314165-save-finder/ it's a really nice app albeit not much to look at it does do everything that Krafter's nand game save restorer does :) also the dev to SaveFinder said they would implement WW/VC saves soon where as Krafter is currently in a project and may not be able to add the function as right now (I've already asked Krafter :) )

crediar added a lot of stuff you might want to have a look at. like fake regions or mw3 online fix.
I thought crediar left the sceen???? Have I been under a rock...
not necessarily under a rock :D
it's been already a little bit longer and it's been mentioned every now and then and there was even a thread, but not really really hyped.

but yeah he's back, updating his twitter too, and removed the sentence about inactivity on the sneek googlecode page.

Has somebody already confirmed this working?

I was very busy the last 2 days, so i could not test myself...
I would like to hear it from somebody who had trouble starting the nswitch dol from priiloader..

Hi again Xflak & Kylster,

Thank you for the enlightenment...

Now, I made and copied the updated SNEEK+DI NEEK2O (Default). I copied the files from COPY_TO_SD to my SD card. Additional question, myprevious ISO games were converter using "DiscEX by crediar" (I am not sure what format is this) when I used the WiiBackupManager it says unusuable files and it cannot be viewed. Does it mean I need to reconvert again all my games from ISO using WiiBackupManager to WBFS? Or is there any work around? What should be my best approach.

Lastly, my USB (FAT32) only have two folders in the root namely 'games' (Where I used to put my previous converted games using DiscEx) and 'sneek' (With diconfig.bin file inside). Do I need to update this too? If yes, how and what should be my folders in my USB root???

You guys are very helpful... Thanks again!

The discex (fst) format in the games folder is also supported. You can leave those.
You can rename the sneek folder to sneekold or something. It gives you a way to return. What version did you build? sneek + di or uneek+di?
sneek+di uses the sneek folder on the sd card. It also uses the emulated nand folders on the sd card.
uneek+di uses the sneek folder on the usb drive. it also uses the emulated nand folders on the usb drive.
Modmii normally also has a COPY_TO_USB folder containing everything needed on the usb drive.
If you want to use multiple nands, you should create a nands folder on your usb drive. Under that folder, you should create a subfolder for every nand you are planning to use.
Under those folders, you need to place your nand folders.
Make sure the nands folder only contains valid nand folders.
The nand folders on the root of your usb drive also still works.

if you need to convert your games from disc-ex format to .iso , you can use WiiGameConveter -GXS by scooby74029, but like obcd says disc-ex formato is supported

Thanks for your reply obcd.

I installed SNEEK+DI, but after I successfully perform the Modmii, I only got 3 folders: COPY_TO_SD, Support and TEmp folder. How can I get the COPY_TO_USB?

About the multiple nands, I do not have any idea about (As I previously mentionedI only have 2 folders in my USB). Can you help me direct to a right noob link for that?

Thank you too Wasabisun...

If it is supported then I do not need to convert my previous games, my only question now is how can I identify the game names that I converted before using DiscEx. Any tool to rename or change this to their actual titles?

Appreciate all your support!

Looks like you build sneek+di. Basically, the easiest way to migrate from the older sneek is renaming your sd:/sneek folder and usb:/sneek folder.
Copy the modmii COPY_TO_SD/sneek folder to your sd card, and things should work like they did with normal sneek.
On the usb drive, you only need your games folder and / or a wbfs folder.
In the sneek folder, you should have kernel.bin, di.bin and font.bin.
When you first run sneek, it should add a diconfig.bin file containing your games.
It will also add a sneekcache folder with a channelcache.bin file in it.

The games in your usb:/games folder are all in subfolders. Those subfolders are the 6 digit unique id of the game.
You can find tools on Internet, or simply google for a game id, and it will point you to the name and description of the game.

Most people use the wbfs format for their games. In such a case, you have to place the game in the wbfs folder on the usb drive.
Games in wbfs format are easier to maintain and aren't that much bigger than fst (discex extracted) ones.

I am not sure if SNEEK +DI creates a COPY_TO_USB folder, but you only need a create a WBFS folder on the USB driv/partition, and transfer your iso/wbfs games to that drive/partion with WiiBackupManager, this insures the naming convention of the files and folders are right.

About your other question, i dont know of any tool, but neek2o should read the titles correctly, so there is really no need to to rename them..

NVM.
