Help. For years, my family has used USB Loader GX to play our Wii games. Recently, we turned out Wii on, tried to launch USB Loader, and it wouldn't open it properly (took us to homebrew channel Wii menu and was like, "error"). We've replaced the USB stick, and still nothing. We managed to launch USB Loader finally, but none of our games show up, and we can't launch it again.
We also went into the WiiXplorer thing, found the WBFS under USB, and it won't open in the WiiXplorer. It will open on a computer, just not in the Wii/Homebrew.

1) can we backup our save data for our games so we at least don't lose those files?

2) can we fix the Wii/USB or what?

follow-up: we also have a Wii u. Is there any way to "hack" the Wii U into running USB Loader, but only hacking the Wii emulator? We don't want to go through making the Wii u proper use USB Loader, just the "old Wii" part of the Wii u, if that makes sense. We've downloaded and backed up our saves, so that's not an issue

Hello,

Check if your hack is up to date using Modmii. Drag and drop your syscheck report into Modmii, and it will tell you what to update for your Wii.

USB flash drives are not recommended for the Wii (often corrupted). Opt for a FAT32 external hard drive and use "Wii Backup Manager" to manage your games on the USB port.

Regarding the Wii U, see this guide ==>

or ==>

Read the tutorials carefully, and everything will go smoothly.;)
