I currently have an m3 DS Real flashcart for my DS Lite, and I realize that it is about time to update. The reason for this is that my m3 Real won't work with newer DS games like Kirby Mass Attack etc.
So, I am asking for some recommendations on what flashcart to get next. I have a 3DS as well, a Japanese model if that makes any difference, and would like the flashcart to work with both my DS Lite and 3DS. I know that flashcarts cannot play 3DS games as of yet, but I like to play DS games on my 3ds occasionally. Also, I use Lameboy for emulating GBC games quite a bit.
I'm leaning toward getting an R4 cart, and I am looking for the best, least expensive one out there right now.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated:)

Thanks for the information:lol:

I have been looking around, and I came across this R4i Gold 3DS:
http://www.r4i-gold.org/r4i-gold-3ds-card-for-n3ds-ndsi-xl-ndsi-ndsl-nds.html

It's a pretty good price, but I was wondering if this website is trustworthy.
Wrong one, that's r4i-gold.com, not r4ids.cn or r4idsn.com. Don't go by just the name, go by the home page of the team making it.

http://www.r4i-gold.org/r4i-gold-3ds-revolution-for-3ds-dsi-v1-43.html
This is the right one, for example.

OK, I found this one: http://nds-card.com/ProShow.asp?ProID=476

And it seems to be right according to another thread on here. Plus, this site is trusted by GBA Temp:)
That's the right one, and the best choice if you don't care about the extra features of the DSTWO like GBA and SNES emulation and such or don't want to pay the higher price.

There's also real-time cheats, the video player, DS2x86, the update function, in-game guides...

Hello again:)

I have another question and just thought I should post it in a thread I already had started.

Anyway, while I've been waiting for my r4i Gold 3DS RTS to arrive, I have also been contemplating whether or not to upgrade to a 3DS LL (Japanese version of 3DS XL).
I was wondering if my new flash cart will be compatible with the 3DS LL. What do you think?

Thanks once again for the help:lol:

If the LL doesn't come with firmware higher than the flash cart comes prepared for.

Doesn't the R4 flash cart ( or any other flash cart for that matter) have firmware updates that come out for you to download and put on your cart that take care of the newest official firmware on the 3DS (like kernel etc.)? I have heard that the R4i gold 3DS card is particularly good with having updates available.

Yeah.

But that doesn't actually change the 3DS. It changes what the flash cart itself looks like so the 3DS thinks it's a real game again and runs it.

Yeah, I understand that..I guess that's what I meant to ask in the first place:rolleyes: As long as my flash cart runs on the 3DS LL as well, it's all good:)
