IMO Vegas is alot more user friendly, but as i said its just because i know it

How to use Vegas:

1. Don't.
2. Get Premiere Pro

I tried using Vegas once and it seemed so absolutely blah compared to Premiere Pro. Maybe it's because I've been a Premiere Pro user since I started video production but Vegas seemed so incredibly obtuse.

Theres no teaching some people, just mess around with it, if you get on with it great, if not try Windows Movie Maker, its designed for people like you OP

"Don't make a video" is better advice than "try Windows Movie Maker". I'd rather not see a video than see a shit one put together with Windows Movie Maker.

I hated it. Couldn't even find how to add a damn text box.

Ugh... It's basically Windows Movie Maker with HD features and Chroma Keying.
I prefer After Effects CS5.5

It's just good and easy to use. It also works in conjunction with all the other Adobe programs (such as After Effects, Photoshop, etc) for some nice flow as well.

The only thing that you need to know about vegas is how to apply the effects in the timeline. WIth only that you can do really cool stuff.




This is really, really, really basic video editing, just some clips slapped together, made the first part in black and white, then i added a tv simulator filter + some linear blur when a strong hit connected and then just synched it with the music. Bam. A good edited video done really fast without too much knowledge.

Well, that video was rendered in HD in nearly 10 minutes and ended weighting 40 mb.

Also, Premiere sucks lol He is an amateur, Something like Vegas 8 is perfect for what he needs. Is not like he needs Final Cut or something xD

I've been editing video for years before I touched Vegas and "user friendly" is the exact opposite way to describe it.
