Is the usb formatted to Fat32?
Idk my computer died I transferd the files with an SD card with a usb adapter and my android phone the ps3 was reading the sd card in multiman though so wouldn't that mean its formated Correctly? If not is there a way to format it to fat 32 with an android phone using an app or something?

I have no idea, the only way I know to do it is use a computer to format it to Fat32. It won't work any other format and I've never heard of using an sd card. I only know of using a usb stick or external hard drive.

Just because multiman can see it it's different than the PS3 setting it. Not necessarily the same thing. You're trying to do things way out of normal using android and sd card so there's no guarantee what you're trying will work.

the emer_init.self is the recovery menu. it can only update from these locations. as you can see, it's taken from rebug lite 4.86. they've added not to the bluray locations. that's their update patch. all the rest are hdd, usb, or vsh.

Make sure the path is correct. It's in all caps along with the extension in caps.

Must be in MBR as well

I changed my cfw ps3 from dex to cex with rebug toolbox reinstalled rebug 4.84.2 on my original HD through the system update tab then put the new HD in and went into recovery mode and got it to read the cfw on my USB drive so I got it installed on my new hd working great now thanks

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Hope you've had a good morning.

It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

I think that's why I focus on just enjoying single player experiences that aren't too competitive

    How are you doing?

There's also this thing where I'm hyperfocused at night and cannot get to sleep.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Maximumbeans, I'm doing alright, thanks.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.

@Maximumbeans, I had a friend who had a glass chess set for their birthday.

It was like all clear and fancy. Tbf I'm not too experienced with chess, but would like to learn someday.
