Hi guys, I'm trying to connect my vita (1000) to my macbook via usb, this hasn't worked back in the qcma times either.
I've tried different computers and cables. VitaIdent shows nothing strange either.
I'm out of ideas, please help :(

Edit:
Under Linux lsusb doesnt show the device.

Just to be sure, you have it set to USB mode in Vitashell's settings and you're hitting select to start USB mode in Vitashell, correct?

Note that it should show up as a mass storage device. Not sure about OSX, but Linux and Windows work fine for me. Make sure the cables you're using are proper data cables, there are two types of Vita USB cables, one that only has pins for charging the Vita and one that has pins for data. Most cables are data cables, but it's possible you might've bought a couple charge only cables or something.

What VitaShell version are you using, and are you using Enso?

Yes I'm set to USB mode and I'm pressing select which gives me: "usb connected" but it doesn't show up as anything, on neither OS :(
I'm using an orginal cable and this one which says OTB data cable for PSVita: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B007P438US/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm using Enso and Vitashell 1.62.

Ok, I'm assuming my vitas USB port is broken.. No device is recognizing it :( Could some kind of reset help?

Followup-questions:
I'll be receiving my SD2VITA adapter soon. What's my best bet to copy my memory card? FTP? Internal? Can I mount sd2vita as uma0, copy everything using vitashell and then remount as ux0?

Have you fix your issue regarding the vita USB can't be detected by PC? I have the same problem.

Then the cable you have is for charging only. Either get a new card, or transfer piracy via FTP, like a true gamer.

I have two cables. One connects through USB, the other, does not.

I'll let you know how well my data cable works once I get it in the mail. the first data cable I bought to test came postage due, which I wasn't paying.

First things first, you should confirm your Vita's USB port is working. If it isn't, a new cable won't make any diference. An FTP transfer will take a very long time to complete, so using a USB connection is preferred.

Another good option (imho), is to mod your Vita's USB port to use a USB Type C connection (no USB C speed or specific capabilities supported though) instead of the proprietary one, there are many YT tutorials about it. If you're not used to microsoldering then I advice you against a DIY, and take it to a repair shop instead.

I'm still waiting for the USB C ports to arrive on my end so I can do such mod.
