Hey I'm trying to hack my 3ds using one of the DS flash carts. I have a regular DSTT with a chip (model?) number that should be supported. Yet when I load up the nds flasher I either get "flash cart set up failed" or it just freezes. Any ideas how to fix this? Is it something to do with the "source" folders I'm downloading? Thanks

Also I did use the search but couldn't find anything specifically like the issue I've got.

Hey guys thanks for the replies. Below are images of my SD card and the two things I get when trying to install bootstrap. I'm 90% sure my card is real I did a test earlier, and my model was compatible, I'll check again.

Here's my number. The compatibility list from 3dshacks guide says it should be supported.

Edit: @robyspy the list you linked has my card down as compatible. It says "Supported Chips using the same standard of command definitons (type A):"

@robyspy I don't really know what you mean I don't think it has done anything. I load it up, I choose DSTT and it either does nothing at all and freezes or it gives me that error message :(

I'll try the link you've sent me tomorrow though and see if anything is different. I'm basically following that guide word for word

I want to say this:
You should see 2 options as in the image:
- Inject Firm
- Dump Flash

Have you tried the Dump Flash to see if it works?

@robyspy

Okay this one is more responsive but I'm still having issues. I choose DSTT, it says preload original firmware automatically and it goes to 100% (is this the same as dump flash?) then I get the option to restore ntrboothax or inject ntrboothax. If I click inject, it gets stuck on 99%

As recommended before (restore flashcart), for now do not close the application and do not switch off.
Just extract the DSTT and try the Installing boot9strap procedure

I think something went wrong. I can no longer use my DSTT as a flash card, my DS lite doesn't recognise it. I'm guessing this isn't supposed to happen?

with ntrboot installed on the card this is normal.
Only if you want to restore the card you do not need to exit that application if you do not have a backup.bin

This is how the card should act if you have ntrboot installed on it. Then after using it to install b9s on your 3ds you restore the card and can use it again.

I panicked thinking I broke it, and messed around with some files attempting to put the games back on. Will this still work? It's currently not working as an nds flash cart

Yeah somethings definitely gone wrong. I've reached the point where I'm holding down the buttons of my 3ds using a magnet trying to install safeb9installer. It's not responding in any way :(
