ROM Hack Need help with animal crossing related stuff

First let me start off by saying I'm new here and I'm not sure if this is the right section for this question if not can someone move it?

OK well I recently got an R4 (mine is actually a clone) and well I wanna know 2 things 1 how come the cheats don't work on Animal Crossing? Also when I try to use animal map editor and load up my save I get an error saying "ERROR: bad checksum or mirror copy"

Can someone help me?

Well I fixed the animal map problem don't know how but it started working

EDIT: well seems like you figured it out, but this might be what you did.

what you want to do about the cheats is,

1. use YSMenu so that the cheats can work

and with the bad checksum problem,

1. use a emulator (no$gba works too) and save in it.
2. then convert it to r4 using shuny's sav converter

3. use the map edit.

but keep in mind that you have to repeat the steps above (1 to 3) if you want to use the map edit again.

Actually I remembered what I did I used a program called max map for ac:ww and with that I loaded my save and saved it using max map then I was able to load up my save on animal map editor and it worked perfectly

so if anyone has this problem try this out
