Hacking Need help unbricking an R4 SDHC Dual-Core NEW

I once used a bad kernel for my R4 SDHC Dual-Core New and it bricked. Neither my DS Lite nor my N3DS recognize it anymore.
I've tried launching the firmware updater from my Gateway Blue card in my DSL, putting the R4 in and launching the update procedure, but it gets stuck on "erasing device".

I don't have a modded 3DS sadly. If I manage to mod my 3DS, I'll give it a try, but currently I can't
