I think it's because you put it in the 3ds section!

If it says for 3ds systems then It should also work on dsixl systems since it's a Nintendo ds flash cart, Just don't try using a 3ds flash cart on dsixl okay?
Second, no more clickbait please.

Also if you have noob questions post in noob paradise or any appropriate forum based on what is already created,

that didn't really answer it because a dsi xl is not a 3ds system

How is this clickbait? It's not like OP said "NEW R4 FIRMWARE OUT LETS YOU'RE DS FLY AND EMULATE GBA GAMES PERFECTLY". Was it in the wrong section? Yeah. But it is FAR from being clickbait
We are two different people with different opinions, so i respect what you are saying, I could used a different word but at the time only one came to mind. Im not the perfect writer. :ninja:

R4i Gold 3DS should work on the DSi XL, just to make sure you have a "legit one", what's the website printed on it?.

I love seeing all these people from the 3ds section saying a DS flashcart labeled 3ds won't work in DSi.
As for OP (who already got it working but I'll post here in case someone needs the answer in the future):
Flashcarts will almost always have a website printed on them. Go to that website, find their downloads section and download what goes on the SD card, which will normally be labeled as the kernel. The file you download will be a compressed file, probably either a .zip or .rar. Extract its contents using winRAR or 7zip, and then place the extracted contents to the microSD you want to use for your flashcart. Then you get your roms and place them on the SD card. I usually put them in a folder called "ROMs" or similar to separate them from homebrew apps.
I can't exactly tell you were to get roms, but I can say there is a certain Emulator Paradise that I have used for years and I fully trust.

Didn't feel the need to make my own thread but I am having trouble with an older R4 I have.

Is there a specific formatting of the SD card that needs to be done? I let Windows 10 format to FAT32 with default allocation size.

I had put some new games on my SD card and when I put it back in the DS it would not boot. Then when I put the SD card back in the computer it says its corrupted and needs to be formatted. This R4 shows up as Metroid Prime Hunters Demo Version and I downloaded the latest Wood from the website and the card is still not booting. It seems to have stopped getting corrupted when I put it in the DS at least. Is this caused by bad formatting or can my older card not run the newest wood or something like that? I think I have the SD card backed up somewhere from when it was working so I may try that.

Seems like this Metroid Prime Hunters Demo version R4 just crapped out completely. Tried Panasonic SD Card formatter and older wood and all I get is a white screen when I try to run the cart.
