Hacking need help hacking my wii (perpetual problem no matter what)

ok. so ive done like 5 wiis but it was a long time ago.
i found this guide

its the one stickied at the top of this forum and im following it to the letter, but when i try to install waninkikos cios, it always gives me an error.
to be specific it gives this
installing custom IOS, please wait...
install error!(ret = -2011)

what is going on? i have no idea what im doing wrong.
and please help quick, its a friends that came over so i need to get it done before they leave

sounds like you missed out trucha patching IOS36 which is one of the first steps and i dont think the guide you used it as up to date as this one, not sure same guide but the linked as all the necessary files need

Restoring the Trucha Bug
Run GP DOP-IOS MOD
Press A to continue.
Go down to select Install an IOS that accepts fakesigning.
Keep pressing A until it takes you back to the IOS selection screen.
Choose IOS36 and start the stub removal process if any are installed.
