Hacking Need help formatting sd

so i'm trying to update to sighax, but my sd is not compatible in my mac (read only) and i need to format it to FAT, i just want to know if FAT actually works on the 3ds, and if so, i think i splitted the sd a while ago to have sysnand and emunand, so i also want to know if that affects anything with the formating and updating

Fat32 is the only thing read by the 3ds. Make sure to have 64kb clusters if you can.
