So the only thing i can do is try using the GC controller and if the version is still 4.1 try to upgrade it to a 4.2? if not Nintendo with it?

So in the cases when you cant get bootmii as boot2 its best to not keep going? (if the wii ain't ours at least) :/
Yep, still I don't know of any retail games out there with 4.2 on it.

Well, in this situation the only thing you can do is restoring the NAND as DeadlyFoez's post describes.

Endless ocean 2, 2010 Fifa World Cup South Afric has 4.2 udpate

OP- did you forget to install ios70?

Thank you all for the replys and the help.

I have no idea what I did wrong, its possible i skipped a step without noticing. Cant tell for sure.

Well I am now gonna talk with the owner and let him decide what he wants to do. As for using infectus i saw how its done yesterday, seams confusing to me and I cant do it, i think the owner may be able to do it, but he doesnt understand english So im not sure how its gonna be.

I have two questions.

Someone else asked me to, well help them with their wii, it was bough last month. I'm not sure if i want to do it after what happened to this one. Is there any way to know if i can install bootmii as boot2 without making the wii, how do I say it, without any risk and without loosing the possibility of sending it to nintendo. (i mean, if i mess around with it and install homebrew channel they wll charge if I ever need to send it to them).

Hope I made what i want to know clear, sorry, my English really failed me.

last thing I want to know is, if i cant install bootmii as boot2 its not safe to mod it, right? I mean, if anything goes wrong like with this wii... the only thing I can do is open it and use infectus right?

Sure, just launch the HackMii installer via Bannerbomb, and it'll show if it's possible to install it to boot2 or not (without modifying anything).
Since launching homebrew via Bannerbomb won't install a single thing on the Wii, you can still send it to Nintendo.

Don't worry, you were pretty clear!

Well, it's always a matter of luck when modding something... You just take the risk

Usually if it doesn't have bootmii on boot2, you install Priiloader, and that helps you to recover in case of bricks.
Since you'd still have to go thru all the IOS modding before installing it, it's not like that's brick-proof, either.

Other than that, there's only Infectus and SaveMii/SaveMiiFrii (in the rare cases it helps)

Oh ok, that made thing really clear now. I will see and decide later how to proceed with this new wii. That pirllloader, if I have succeed installing it, it will load before the wii system menu?

Yup. It loads just right before the SysMenu.

just to clarify, it loads before the system menu, but your wii will typically still seemingly boot directly to the wii system menu (unless u change priiloader settings). To access the Priiloader menu, hold the reset button as the wii is powering on.

Great, so after installing its a brick safe as bootmii? cool.

Thank you all for the help. After we decide what to do with the bricked wii I will tell you guys just so you know.

no its not as good brick protection as bootmii @ boot2, but its close enough

priiloader is uninstalled when u install a new system menu or update

but basically as long as u don't do anything stupid like update or uninstall ur system menu, u should be fine
