All:

Those of you who where having problems with the SNES emulator not loading or saving the settings, try this version:

File: http://www.psikostudios.com/wii/snes9x/SNE...GX_4.1.5.c4.zip
Source: http://www.psikostudios.com/wii/snes9x/SNE....5.c3_source.7z

There was a bug in the versioning that may have been causing the problems with the settings not saving or loading properly.

Also, those who complained about the version number reverting to 1.0.0. I have decided to reversion the cover mod versions. From now on, it will be the same as Tantric's version followed by c and the revision number of the cover mod.

Example, this version is:

SNES9x GX 4.1.5.c.3

Updated SNES9x GX 4.1.5 to SNES9X GX 4.1.5.c4

Changes:
* Updated with latest optimizations from the SVN
* Reworked the Auto-Update function to check for updates to CoverView mod.
* Fixed the image skewing, covers now skew properly like they should.
* Small tweaks to code.

Get the update here:

Found this app on another site and made a cover pack. Thought i'd share it here too.

116 MB
Snes Box Art (U)
729 covers. All named with (U) at the end.

Sorry for this being my first post, i thought i had an account, been coming to gbatemp for M3 stuff for a long time.

Anyway, thanks for this psiko and giantpune, its pretty awesome.

@MrKill - What would be too much for the Wii?
Wiiflow style for emulator. Suppose someone has like 700 roms, the Wii have to deal with 700 3D cover in his memory. Its to much i think.

lol, you don't load all of them at once in memory ... even Wii loaders don't do that , and I'm sure there are weird people out there with 700 Wii games on their harddrive

my only criticism on cover flow is the lack of originality, I know kids love those polished and uniformized interfaces but at the end all interfaces look the same (I'm even wondering if it's not the same code shared among all project with some tiny variations)

@albertbert - Thanks for that pack, it should help a lot of people out. I still have a couple of things up my sleeve that I'm working on too :-)

@MrKill - Like Jacobeian pointed out, the Wii wouldnt load them all into memory, just the ones that are present on the screen, and the ones to the immediate sides and when you scroll it just swaps out the side buffers with the new images.

@Jacobeian - I agree with you, while the CoverFlow style does look great, I don't think it's well suited for a retro emulator like this. What I would think would be better is more of a Media Centre style, think XMBC. Also, I would bet for some (if not most) the code is shared. I know the code that is used for the CoverView mod for the SNES9x and FCE Ultra emulators is from the USB Loader GX, not that its a bad thing, thats the great thing about Open Source!

Ok yes they were both made by Rare, but DK was from Rare back then, Rare now is owned by MS. So makes since.
