Hacking Neccesairy to hack PSP for videos?

Hi,
I'm wondering if a PSP can play videos natively, does it need hacking, or can it do it natively but a homebrew software gives it ability to load higher bitrate/res videos?


Just wondering if I should get psp3000...

I know the PSP can natively, without hacking, run videos. I've done it a few times and it works wonderfully.

I don't know anything about higher res videos though.
I would really recommend you buy a PSP 2000 or 3000. It's a fantastic and especially cheap platform.

The PSP plays MP4 natively. You just need to convert the video.
