wow, this is great... I got 26 the first day and 33 today.
I had some trouble with the color 'black', till I figured out it worked to say 'svart' which is black in swedish

Heh, what the hell. I just tried saying Röd, Gul, Blå and Svart and it rezognized it just as well as in English.. Though it had some trouble recognizing Blå..

the one that stumped me was "low to high". I failed at least 60% of that one.

day one brain age: 50
actual age: 29

Indeed, you have to be REAL quick on this one...

I've got to 8 numbers once, and obviously failed, even though my vision is usually quite fast, such as in puzzle and action games. It's remembering AND "sorting" them on the fly that's kinda hard...

And for the words game, it was kinda hard to write the letters too, but it was even more to remember them. For this one, you'll definitely have to use the "keywords" trick (or some name like that), where you make associations in your brain in order to remember them more efficiently. For instance, my word list had "gang" (or "girl") and "bang" one after the other, so guess how I remembered them...

Low to high is definitely my favorite one so far. After a few tries, I was able to remember 11 correctly... but when it came to 12, three rows of 4, my brain just crapped out on me.

First day and my DS brain age is already my real age, 20

Am I bragging? Maybe a little

I "got" this game yesterday and tried it out. It is an awesome concept, but the voice and text recognition is fucking awful. They really needed to improve the recognition system if they plan on releasing more of these games.

Yeah I agree.
I memorized way more words than it would recognize me writing in with the stylus.
I had to skip a few because it wouldn't get it right.
Screw that.

I love this game!
biggrin.gif
It's so unique... Even though it's "edu-tainment"; it's still quite fun.
I may very well just play this every day like they recommend.

The Prof. says my current brain "age" is 53.
tongue.gif
And I'm actually 21... So that sounds pretty bad!

As for speech and handwriting recognition, I can't say I've had any problems with either... I'm actually really impressed with how well it works.
I'm guessing that being British helps!

Does anybody have a problem with turning the DS 90" to play this game ?
I got the feeleng that the DS screen was ment to be viewed from one angle only, the standard horizontal way we usually play other games.
Because of this game, and the odd glare that came from the displays, today I went to work half blind and with a brain age of probably 95, even though I am 32 and the game claims I am 73.
It's just to painfull for me to play this on the DS.
I think I will wait until I get a lite before I seriously play this.
For the rest ,what can I tell ?
I just love it, it's just the right kind of thing that one would like to have on an handeld.
I don't have any problem with the voice recognition, and if I write the numbers in a certain way(like only a vertical line for #1 ) usually they get recognized.
But I want to make one point here :
Every country writes in a different way. I have been travelling a lot internationally, and I know that in some places people start to write from the top, others from the bottom, and it could be in one ore more motions. Therefore I wouldn't blame the application if some symbols are not recognized.
It would be interesting to see in the instruction booklet actually says a few words about that, and the best way to achieve perfect writing recognition. I bet it does !
By the way I run ot from my SC with the 2.52 patcher and it works great. I enable saver and restart and trim, but not faster play.
It never crushed and I never got white screens.
Maybe it's because I am using a sandisk ultra II as storage unit, which is a little faster then regular sandisks.

Only had a quick look at this for the first time today, did the initial test and like others it doesn't like how I say blue. I did notice it does recognise words better though if you hold it about half an arms length away rather than too close. I'm in the UK so I'm hoping the alter they voice recognition to account for the difference in accents.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
