It's another way of writing "NDS." It's used to change the extension of it. Just changed ".ND5" to ".NDS" and you'll have your Rom/Game back to it's original extension.

EDIT: Usually, in online gaming terms, people would use "5" as "S" sometimes.

2nd EDIT: I downloaded a Rom that had .ND5 extension once. Even the name of the Rom was changed from "Red" to "R3D." Not sure why but maybe it's used to hide the fact that it's .NDS.

is a joke!

This.

But it's not just in gaming, it's called 1337speak, letters get replaced by numbers that look like it. Wiki page

I'm pretty sure I downloaded a rom like that and there was a txt file saying they named it that for copyright reasons or something

Ty.

The '.nd5' extension means that you're downloading roms from some Mexican website. Be discrete. It's a 'masking' technique. Old & unsuccessful.

.nd5 is a different format, it's jejerom format.

So nobody reads the damn text files that come with downloads anymore?
I do! Hence why I never ask idiotic questions like this one. It doesn't take a genius to work it out, especially when the ROM name would have been written in the same style!

Also, I use a site where I DL ROMs with the file names written like this and it's Japanese, not Mexican.

EDIT: BALLS! Just seen the date of the topic. Sorry!
