NATO vs Russia... War or not?

So... Yesterday, Poland counted no less than 19 drones over their air space, which they shot partially down. Debris reveals that these were Russian.
Poland has raised alarms to NATO, who are now looking into it. Poland considers this a provocation. Russia doesn't deny the things we're theirs but insist it wasn't meant to be over polish soil... Despite some being shot down rather far from the border.

I usually wait for me news sources, but wanted to get your opinions here first: what do you make of this?
(to the us citizens) has this even been in the news? And what would be your opinion NATO members should do?
(please ignore the us president here... I'm asking you what you want your country to do)

Incompetence is certainly no excuse, this should be the signal for NATO member nations to get more directly involved with Ukraine's defense. It's the clearest message yet that Russia has no intention to cease their imperialist campaign at just one nation, unless they're forced to.

Yes, there were a few scattered reports on it before it was overshadowed by other events.

Russia violated ceasefires at least 25 times since 2014 with Ukraine. Ukraine has no reason to trust them with anything, so I don't see why Poland should.

Nato is to scared of a full scale war with Russia, now that they cant rely 100% on USA
If Russia should invade Poland, they would probably start slow with regions close to Belarus
just to test Nato

I heard theories that those drones were sent by Ukraine. It is weird that even Belarus warned us of those drones approaching us.
For now I am not sure what to think of the whole situation and that theory. I will wait and see how the situation unfolds. But the panic in Poland is already pretty insane.

To my knowledge this was a test, and it backfired massively on Russia.

As now other nato members who previously were unconcerned, are now roped into the mess. Since Russia basically just spelled out that no, it will not simply stop with Ukraine.
